Third, the length of study.
The basic academic system for full-time graduate students is 3 years. The length of postgraduate study (including suspension, retention of student status and postponement of graduation) shall not exceed 5 years.
Fourth, curriculum and credit requirements.
The postgraduate course of this major implements the credit system, and the minimum credit requirement is 33 credits. Among them, degree courses should be no less than 2 1 credit, non-degree courses should be no less than 9 credits, teaching practice 1 credit, social practice 1 credit, and academic activities 1 credit.
English is the main language of foreign languages, and classified teaching is implemented, requiring 6 credits. Among them, basic English has 3 credits and professional English 1.5 credits, which is a public compulsory course; Advanced English and Applied English are optional courses, each course has 1.5 credits, and at least one course is optional.
Postgraduate Basic English, anyone with a score of 426 or above in CET-6, an IELTS score of 6.5 or above and a TOEFL score of 85 or above can apply for exemption from the exam and get 3 credits directly; Postgraduates who do not meet the exemption conditions should take the basic English course for postgraduate students and get 3 credits only after passing the examination; Before applying for a master's degree, a graduate student who does not meet the exemption conditions and does not take part in the basic English study for graduate students must sign an agreement with the Graduate Office to teach himself basic English, and meet the above exemption conditions in order to get 3 credits.
Advanced English for graduate students. Postgraduates who have obtained the basic English exemption qualification can take advanced English courses. If you pass the exam, you can get 1.5 credits.
Postgraduates can choose postgraduate applied English courses according to their own development needs. If you pass the exam, you can get 1.5 credits.
Specialized foreign languages should generally be combined with specialized course study, foreign language literature review or degree (graduation) thesis preparation, requiring students to read at least1.5000 words.
Please refer to the postgraduate curriculum table of Applied Mathematics for the specific curriculum.
1, degree course
Degree course is a compulsory course to further improve students' political and foreign language level, strengthen and deepen students' basic theoretical level of disciplines, and lay the foundation for further study. All degree courses are examination courses, and those with an examination score of 60 or above are qualified.
2. Non-degree courses
Non-degree courses are divided into compulsory courses and elective courses, which are the supplement and expansion of degree courses. They are mainly aimed at basic courses for general disciplines and corresponding courses related to research direction.
The assessment method of non-degree courses is determined by the teachers themselves, and more than 60 points are qualified.
Test scores are scored with a percentage system.
3. Make-up course
Graduate students with the same academic ability must make up 2-3 major undergraduate courses in this discipline. Supplementary courses are mathematical analysis and advanced algebra. Make-up courses are arranged by the college according to the undergraduate teaching plan. Make-up classes are not counted as credits.
Some graduate students need to make up some undergraduate courses because of the need of further study or scientific research (referring to the courses that graduate students with the same academic ability need to make up outside the graduate courses). Such courses cannot replace the degree courses and non-degree courses prescribed by this discipline, and no credits are calculated.
4. Practical links and academic activities
Including teaching practice, social practice and academic activities, are all compulsory links.
(1) Teaching practice: Teaching practice is an important link in cultivating graduate students' teaching ability. Educational practice must be oriented to undergraduates and participate in the front-line work of teaching. The workload is equivalent to 16 teaching hours, and the time is usually arranged in the second school year. After the tutor's assessment, the students will pass if they pass the examination, accounting for 1 credit.
(2) Social practice: Colleges and graduate tutors should arrange social practice or social service for graduate students for at least 2 months, which is generally 10 from August to the end of the first academic year. Tutors can arrange graduate students to do projects with engineering application background or engage in social investigation and research; Graduate students can be arranged to "graduate joint training base" or enterprises and institutions to solve technical problems in combination with professional characteristics; Graduate students can be arranged to engage in management or service work in government departments; Graduate students can arrange their own social practice (including short-term work) according to their employment needs, with the aim of training their interpersonal skills, practical work ability and improving their employability. After the internship, graduate students should write no less than 3,000 words of internship experience, and get 1 credit after being signed and sealed by the internship unit and signed by the tutor.
(3) Academic activities: Before submitting the defense application, graduate students should make at least two academic reports within the scope of undergraduates, graduate students and teachers, and listen to the academic reports 10 times or more. Before submitting the defense application, graduate students should submit the academic activity registration form to the tutor, and the tutor will evaluate the results, and those who pass will get 1 credit.
5. Postgraduates should try to choose courses on campus. If it is really necessary to choose courses outside the school, it should be proposed by the tutor, approved by the dean of the college and reported to the school for approval. After the end of the course, the school will give credits according to the examination transcripts issued by the graduate education authorities of the relevant schools (research institutes).
