Guiyang No.1 Middle School began with Zhengxi Academy and Zhengben Academy founded by Chang Ming, a military envoy in the fifth year of Qing Jiaqing. 1950, Guiyang Senior High School, Guiyang Middle School, Zhongshan Middle School run by the local people, the middle school attached to the National Teachers College and Boqun Middle School run by the local people merged, and it was officially named Guiyang No.1 Middle School.
