What are the two categories of classical pianos in Baroque period?
Wedge hammer harpsichord, harpsichord

1. Hammer-string clavichord: Hammer-string clavichord is a keyboard instrument, which makes sound by hitting the strings with a wooden hammer. Each key on the keyboard has a mallet. When the key is pressed, the hammer head will strike the strings and make a sound. Wedge hammer harpsichord was very popular in Baroque period, and it was widely used in indoor music performance because of its soft tone and strong expressive force.

2. harpsichord: The harpsichord is a keyboard instrument, which uses a small piece of wood like a feather (called a harpsichord) to pluck the strings to make sound. Each key on the keyboard is connected to a feather tube. When the key is pressed, the feather tube plucks the strings and makes a sound. Harpsichord was widely used in Baroque period, and became the main accompaniment instrument for music performance at that time because of its bright and crisp tone.
