Hello, the National English Test for Professional and Technical Personnel focuses on the reading comprehension ability of candidates. The overall evaluation objectives of the exam are: those who apply for A-level should complete the reading task of about 3,000 words within 2 hours and correctly understand the contents of the materials they read; Those who declare Grade B should complete the reading task of about 2,600 words within 2 hours, and can correctly understand the contents of the materials they read; Those who apply for Grade C should complete the reading task of about 2,200 words within 2 hours, and can correctly understand the contents of the materials they read.

In order to achieve the above objectives, the examination requires candidates' English vocabulary, grammar knowledge and reading comprehension ability as follows:

The vocabulary and phrases involved in the exam are mainly based on the glossary attached to this outline. Declare candidates at different levels

The vocabulary required for cognition is different:

1. Those who apply for Grade A should know about 6,000 words and a certain number of phrases;

2. Those who declare Grade B should know about 5,000 words and a certain number of phrases;

3. Those who apply for Grade C should know about 4,000 words and a certain number of phrases.

(B) Grammar knowledge

The exam does not directly examine the grammar knowledge mastered by candidates, but candidates must master basic grammar.

Knowledge, mainly including:

1. Basic word order of English sentences and its significance;

2. The structure and common sentence patterns of English sentences;

3. Various forms of tense and aspect and their meanings;

4. The composition and significance of each clause;

5. Reference, ellipsis, substitution and repetition of words in sentences, and the meaning relationship between sentences.

(C) Reading comprehension ability

Candidates should be able to comprehensively use English language knowledge and reading skills to understand professional or general English books.

Surface material. Reading ability mainly includes the following aspects:

1. Grasp the main idea and general idea of the materials read;

2. Understand the facts and details of the theme;

3. Use the context to guess the meaning of some words and phrases;

4. Understand not only the meaning of a single sentence, but also the meaning relationship between contexts;

5. Make judgments and inferences according to the materials read;

6. Understand the author's point of view, intention and attitude.

Third, the examination content and examination paper structure

A, B and C exams are composed of six parts, each of which has the same type of questions and the same number of questions, but the total reading volume and difficulty of different levels of exams are different. This test mainly examines the examinee's ability to understand written English.

Part 1: lexical options (question 1 ~ 15, each with 1, * * 15).

Part III: Summarize the main idea and complete the sentence (questions 23-30, each 1, ***8).

Test candidates' ability to grasp the main idea and details of the article. This part is divided into 1 essay with 300,450 words, and there are two test tasks: (1) There are six paragraph subtitles after the essay, and candidates are required to choose a correct subtitle for each of the four paragraphs specified in the article; (2) There are four incomplete sentences after the passage. Candidates are required to choose four correct options from the six options provided to complete each sentence.

The fourth part; Reading comprehension (3 1 ~ 45 questions, 3 points for each question, ***45 points)

Test the examinee's ability to understand the main idea and details of the article. This part is divided into three articles, each with 300 ~ 450 words, and there are five questions after each article. Candidates are required to choose 1 best answer from the four options given in each question according to the content of the article.

Test candidates' ability to grasp the structure of the article and the author's thinking. This part is divided into 1 essay with 300 ~ 450 words. There are 5 spaces and 6 groups of words behind the article, of which 5 groups are taken from the article itself.
