The museum has six permanent exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition halls, including geological environment, mineral resources, Dragon Journey, Sichuan and Chongqing, dinosaur exploration, life exploration and colorful life, as well as supporting exhibition facilities such as academic lecture hall, 4D cinema, ring screen cinema and research center.

On the first floor, there are two permanent exhibition halls for geological environment and mineral resources. The Geological Environment Pavilion mainly displays the formation of the universe and the earth, the formation of the Sichuan Basin and the Chengdu Plain. The mineral resources museum shows the types and characteristics of minerals, minerals, gems and other natural resources. In the exhibition hall, minerals of different colors and shapes shine with prehistoric mystery under the light.

On the second floor, there is Mamen Xilong in Hechuan, which is a must-see place for every tourist. It stands in the hall, 24 meters long, and the real fossil content is over 80%. This is one of the treasures of the museum. In Longxing Chuanyu Museum and Dinosaur Discovery Museum, visitors will also see dozens of dinosaur fossils from all over the world, which is enough to feast their eyes.

On the third floor of the museum are the Life Exploration Museum and the Colorful Life Museum. In the Life Sourcing Museum, in addition to the treasure of the town hall-Dazhu Chongqing Fish, there are also small exhibits such as crawling traces of trilobites, fish droppings, pregnant ichthyosaur fossils, exquisite five-pointed stars and animals. Colorful life hall, you can appreciate the richness of life, such as the Asian elephant Kanzan.

There are also rare animals in the world, such as Malai tapir, orangutan and jaguar. The giant salamander, once a star of the old museum, became a specimen and lay on the second floor of the new exhibition hall.

The extremely rare "whisper"-Longchang iron meteorite is also one of the three "treasures of the town hall".

In addition to various special exhibits, Chengdu Museum of Natural History has also introduced many new black technologies.

The theme exhibition hall on the first floor has the first full 3D relief model with magic screen technology in Sichuan Province. Through the AR digital telescope in front of the sand table, we can see the digital intelligent model of Chengdu Plain superimposed by real sand table and virtual reality.

There is also an AR experience screen in the Mammoth Fossil Exhibition Area. Click on the bone model on the screen to learn about animals in all directions. Turn the AR display screen, let the camera scan the bones and watch the three-dimensional model of the restored animal.

In addition, the museum also has digital visual presentation technologies such as debris flow sand table projection system, mineral world water curtain interactive system and scene projection system.

There is also a giant screen cinema on the second floor, which is18m long and 8m high. Standing in the center of the cinema, you can feel the origin of the universe, the evolution of life and the development of the solar system, as if wandering in the long river of time.
