A new version of PMP has been released, which will focus on the following three new areas: "people, processes and business environment". A new architecture that is more flexible and agile and pays more attention to actual scenes. The focus of the investigation is from paying attention to things to paying attention to people, with more emphasis on practice and understanding. The comprehensive ability and soft skills of the project manager (negotiation, communication, team motivation, problem-solving ability, etc.). The requirements are getting higher and higher.
Compared with the previous syllabus, which focuses on the application of theory in practical scenarios, the new syllabus focuses on the abilities that managers need in the actual project process: management team ability, technical project management ability, strategy and business management ability. These are all professional abilities that must be emphasized and valued in the real project environment.
The new syllabus weakens the research direction of traditional project management technology and the knowledge points of hard skills such as change, risk, quality and earned value. The requirement for students is more an understanding of values and spirit than becoming a technocrat.
The examination content runs through the scope of value delivery (including forecasting, agility and mixed methods) and is distributed in three examination fields. The new PMP exam will continue to use PMBOK Guide-6th Edition as a reference.
