Nanchang County is located in the north-central part of Jiangxi Province, downstream of Ganjiang River and Fuhe River, and on the shore of Poyang Lake. Jinxian County in the east, fengcheng city in the south, Ganjiang New District in the west and north, Poyang Lake in the northeast, Qingshan Lake District, qingyunpu district, Xihu District, donghu district, Xinjian District and Honggutan District on three sides. It is 36 kilometers wide from east to west and 77 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 18 1 1 square kilometer.

Nanchang County is located in the northern margin of Yichun Le (Pingping) Depression, between Ganjiang and Fuhe faults, and its geological structure is undeveloped. Only in Baihuling and Kangshan in Huangma Township, Baigang and Hantang in sanjiang town, and Tangang in Guangfu Township, there are some small folds, small faults and small structures alternating with syncline and anticline, and the occurrence changes greatly.
