Jian 'ou Dialect in Northern Fujian Dialect
Jian 'ou dialect, as a small member of the Chinese dialect family, has a lot of consistency with Putonghua in the grammatical expression of its real words, no matter the form, meaning or grammatical characteristics of the words. But since it is a dialect, it is bound to show differences from Mandarin.

Idiom Songs in Jian 'ou Dialect

Jian 'ou dialect is a sub-dialect of Min dialect. Therefore, its semantic features are more consistent with other sister dialects of Min dialect-Mindong (represented by Fuzhou dialect), Minnan (represented by Xiamen dialect) and Minzhong (represented by Yong 'an dialect). However, as an independent sub-dialect of Min dialect, it is obviously different from other sister dialects of Min dialect in terms of notional words, which embodies the characteristics of Northern Min dialect itself.
