The School of Acupuncture and Massage of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long history and profound accumulation, and is now a national key discipline. It was founded in 1956 by famous China acupuncturists Wu Yixian and Pu Xiangcheng. Yu Zhongquan, Guan Jiduo, Pu Yingru, Li Zhongyu, Yang Jiebin, Song Kaiyuan, Luo Yongfen, Huang Dijun, Liao Fangzheng, Qin Biguang and many other famous artists came forth in large numbers. After nearly 40 years of hard work, it has made great progress in teaching, scientific research and clinic, and is an important center for acupuncture and massage teaching, scientific research and medical treatment in China. At present, the Academy of Acupuncture and Massage has acupuncture and massage, Chinese medicine (medical beauty), rehabilitation therapy, rehabilitation therapy technology (Sino-US cooperation class), Chinese medicine (geriatrics) and seven-year program of Chinese medicine (acupuncture English and Wu Yuxian class). There are more than 50 doctoral and master students and more than 800 undergraduates and junior college students. Acupuncture and Tuina is one of the earliest institutions in China to obtain the right to confer master's and doctor's degrees. It has trained the first foreign doctor with complete levels in China to run a school, and now the scale of running a school is among the best in the same industry in China.
