1, content difference?
The main difference between three-level interpretation and two-level interpretation lies in the length and information of materials.
CATTI three-level interpretation exercise (30 minutes) tests dialogue English-Chinese translation, dialogue English-Chinese translation, 300-word English-Chinese consecutive interpretation and 200-word English-Chinese consecutive interpretation; CATTI three-level comprehensive interpretation (60 minutes) tests listening comprehension (judge right or wrong after listening, choose correct expression after listening, fill in the blanks after listening, and write a summary after listening-listen to 500 words and write a summary of 150 words).
The second-level "comprehensive ability of interpretation" test consists of four parts: judgment, short sentence option, text option and listening summary. All recordings of listening materials are played only once. Level 2 interpretation requires mastering more than 8,000 English words, but there is no limit to the number of English words. Besides a good language foundation, a relatively professional knowledge structure is also needed.
2. The professional level of the representatives is different.
Level 2 interpretation is equivalent to professional level, and it is a professional translation exam. First of all, the test scores are very detailed. It takes several people to listen to a person's recording, and the results heard by several people are the same, so as to determine the scores of candidates. Sometimes, in the case of boarders, it takes a lot of time and energy to refine the score into words. Passing the second grade is equivalent to an intermediate title.
Compared with the second-level interpretation test, the third-level interpretation test is quasi-professional. Candidates who have passed CET-6 or TOEFL IELTS have been using English in their work and study, or are also doing accompanying interpretation, so they can consider trying CET-3, which can not only prepare for CET-2, but also make it easier to pass on the basis of existing English.
3. Different requirements for cultural background.
In addition, Erkou also has high requirements for cultural background. The texts they hear may involve some idioms or proverbs in English, or some expressions that are relatively localized in a country. If they don't understand them, they may not be translated. In addition, you can also test whether you are qualified for 3-5 minutes consecutive interpretation in formal occasions before the exam.
