Speaking of Beiqi Deben, many netizens may not be familiar with it. This joint venture company was established by BAIC and Mercedes-Benz technology in March 20 15. It is the most important and core R&D technology center of BAIC, and its main business includes vehicle R&D projects, research and application of new automotive technologies, engineering consulting and training, technology licensing and transfer, etc. Headquartered in Beijing, it has an office in Stuttgart, Germany.

In other words, BAIC Deben is actually a joint venture company that provides technology for BAIC, and its main technology is MBtech (Mercedes-Benz Technology). BAIC Deben is mainly responsible for vehicle design, technical research, high-end vehicle platform and new energy vehicle development of high-end models of BAIC's own brand, and the technology center will also help BAIC absorb and upgrade SAAB technology platform.

Of course, both sides have their own purposes in cooperation. BAIC hopes to help its products go to the high end and enhance the brand premium through the technology provided by Mercedes-Benz; Mercedes-Benz's technology is simpler, that is, it helps BAIC by providing technology, thus increasing profits and income.

Thanks to the technical service provided by BAIC Deben, BAIC also had a channel to use Mercedes-Benz platform technology during this period, and even launched BJ80, which is very similar to Mercedes-Benz G-Class and old GL. BJ90 and Beiqi's latest product, Beijing -X7, are also supported by Beiqi Deben. Among them, BJ90 supported by German technology is also very confident in price, reaching 698-998,000 yuan (the previous price was 998-1.288,000 yuan). However, reality is still too cruel, and fantasy is not as good as reality.

As we all know, the market performance of BAIC autonomous passenger cars has not been very optimistic. The performance report of 20 19 shows that the gross profit of Beijing brands decreased from-35160,000 yuan in 20 18 to-47.28 million yuan.

In recent years, Geely, Great Wall and Chang 'an have gradually transformed into high-end products and achieved fruitful results.
