The 2025 Chengdu World Games will be held from August 8 to August 19, 2025.

The International University Sports Federation announced that the 2025 Summer Universiade will be held in Chengdu, China, and the competition time will be from August 8th to August 9th, 2025/KLOC-0. The 2025 Chengdu World Expo is the12nd World Expo, which is an international sports event hosted by the International World Expo and mainly focused on non-Olympic events. This is the second time that China has hosted the World Games after the 2009 Kaohsiung World Games.

The World Universiade is a grand event for college athletes and an important platform for displaying college students' sports level and cultural exchange. The hosting of the Chengdu Universiade will inject new impetus into the development of sports in China and provide new opportunities for the economic and social development of Chengdu. As the central city in western China, Chengdu has rich cultural heritage and excellent sports infrastructure. The Universiade will accelerate the development of sports in Chengdu and promote the prosperity of urban cultural tourism industry.

Events of the 2025 Chengdu World Games

In 2025, 12 World Games will be held in Chengdu. On May 3, 2023, Beijing time, at the annual general meeting of the International World Games Federation held in Madrid, Spain, the project of Chengdu World Games was reviewed and approved. Among them, the Sambo has become the only new event. Except diving, gymnastics, karate, weightlifting, roller skating, tug-of-war and water skiing, every World Games has a choice.

Air movement, archery, billiards, bocce, kayaking, sports dance, Faust ball, soft hockey, Frisbee, handball, Jiu Jitsu, kicking, Dutch ball, stick tennis, lifesaving, Muay Thai, orienteering, squash with short handle, baseball/softball, rock climbing, squash and martial arts.
