Yunnan Tourism Vocational College is located in Wuhua District, Kunming. It is the only public higher vocational college in Yunnan Province approved by the Yunnan Provincial People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education. It is also a national key vocational education teacher training base, China-ASEAN tourism talent education and training base, national popular science education base and national tourism vocational education school-enterprise cooperation demonstration base.
The college, formerly known as Kunming Geological School, was established in April 1956. 1965, Chongqing Geological School and Sichuan Geological Technician School merged into Kunming Geological School. 19971February was transformed into Yunnan Tourism School; 20 1 1 May, Yunnan Tourism Vocational College was upgraded to a junior college level.
