The discipline of sports human science in Shanghai Institute of Physical Education was founded by Professor Zhang Huilan, a famous sports anatomist in China, in the early 1950s. After half a century's construction, it has developed into a dominant discipline with reasonable academic echelon, high academic level, obvious discipline characteristics, advanced experimental conditions, outstanding research level, remarkable achievements, leading in the same field in China and having certain influence in international related fields. On 1978, the discipline of sports human science resumed the first batch of graduate students in sports field, and the first batch of master's degrees in sports field were awarded on 1980. In the same year, it was rated as a key discipline of the State Sports Commission (now the State Sports General Administration), and 1995 was approved as a doctoral degree authorization point. School of Continuing Education of Shanghai Sport University was established in 1960. It is the first institution in China to establish higher physical education for adults. It was originally called the Department of Adult Education, and was renamed the College of Continuing Education in May 2006. It has gone through the course of running a school for half a century. The College of Continuing Education has a correct concept of running a school, standardized teaching management, and pays attention to cultivating students' practical application ability. The evaluation of adult education in physical education colleges has always been in the forefront of the country. It has trained tens of thousands of outstanding undergraduate and junior college graduates for various provinces and cities.
