China People's Liberation Army Institute of International Relations is one of the national key institutions of higher learning at 23:30 on September 16, 2006. The main task is to train professional cadres in international strategic research, military diplomacy, national defense and foreign affairs for our army, and also to train foreign language teachers for our military academies. It is a training base for military diplomacy and foreign language professionals of our army.

The PLA Institute of International Relations was established in June, 195 1. The college has three departments, including English, Russian, Japanese and French.

The Institute of International Relations of the People's Liberation Army is a master's degree institution approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and jointly trains doctoral students majoring in Russian language and literature with Shanghai International Studies University.
