? Our reading club is reading Song Juzhi's Seeds of Happiness this month, mainly about parent-child reading. After reading it, the group friends realized the importance of reading picture books (picture books) in children's growth, and they all said that they should take their children to study hard. But in practice, they find that reading picture books is not as simple as they thought, and some problems are still very confusing. As it happens, Mr. Wen belongs to our reading club, so I invited her to give you a voluntary answer (purely my personal brush face). The following is based on the questions mentioned by everyone, teacher Wen's voice answer, which I arranged in writing.
1, in the process of parent-child reading, should we read the original word by word, or can we play it freely? Do children need parental guidance when looking at pictures? ?
Flexible use. If the child is still very young, has limited understanding ability and limited words on the picture, he can express it in his own language and in a way that the child can understand. If the child is older, try to read according to the original picture book. As for free play, according to children's needs, every child has different understanding and imagination when reading the same book. Parent-child reading is a process of communication. If the child has some questions for you, you can answer them with him. We should know what the purpose of reading with children is, not reading for the sake of reading. If the child is really interested in a certain link in your reading process, such as a certain point in the picture, and he actively communicates with you, then you can communicate with him. If he didn't take the initiative to tell you something. I think you can follow the child's thinking and continue to go down page by page without interrupting his thinking. So excessive guidance is unnecessary.
2. How to read a picture book without words?
When we read a book without words, we must first read it through. Secondly, children can connect in series by themselves according to time and place (after the children are older). Finally, it should be noted that all books have no fixed answers. As for picture books, you should know that every picture book has four stories. The first is the story that words bring us; The second is the story that the picture brings us; The third is the story brought to us by the combination of graphics and text; The fourth is the stories created by our children and mothers in the process of reading. It can be said that every parent-child reading is unique and belongs to every family. The focus is on the happiness and harmony of parent-child relationship.
3. Do you need translation to read English picture books?
When reading English picture books, I suggest that my mother read Chinese to her children first, and then read English for the second time after reading all Chinese. Don't read Chinese and English like this, so children's thoughts are easily interrupted.
4. When the baby is studying, he always likes to diverge and be unconstrained. What should I do at this time? What I'm dealing with now is to listen to him first, and then pull him back when I hear something similar to the next question, and keep watching ...
Mom's approach is quite good. When parents and children are reading, children's thinking is completely different from ours, which is related to life experience. When a child sees something related to his life experience, he will compare his own thing with this thing in the book, so he doesn't have to interrupt it deliberately. However, when parents tell stories to their children, they should finish reading the book in advance and let you know the content behind. When he asks you some questions, you can communicate and interact with him, so that you can respect your child's needs and focus on the theme of the book as much as possible.
After borrowing books from the library, some children obviously don't like them, but as parents, they still want to read them to him, so that he will be interested. Sometimes he will just say that he won't read the book, and sometimes he can barely finish it. Should he follow his advice and just give up the book if he doesn't like it?
I have met many parents who choose books that they think their children will like, or they think these books should bring something to their children. But often this is only from the perspective of us adults, not from the perspective of children. Sometimes children like a book and we adults read it, which is completely different. Therefore, when we choose books for our children, of course, we can't let them like them completely. It is perfectly normal for some children not to like them. Try to respect their wishes. Many times, children's interests are staged. If they don't like it for a while, they will. They can put it aside temporarily, and they don't have to like a certain book or a certain type of book at that time. The most important thing in parent-child reading is a kind of high-quality parent-child companionship. If we put parent-child companionship behind us and put some knowledge or some scheming ahead, we will put the cart before the horse.
A 6.2-year-old and 4-month-old baby went to the library to borrow books. How often do you change five books a week? There are also some books bought at home, and some think that he is not tired after reading for several months.
Reading is not counted by time. Children like a book and can read more. If you don't like it, you can put it aside and stop. If a two-year-old and four-month-old baby likes these five books very much, I suggest the child read them again. If he doesn't like some books very much, we can read them twice before returning them. You can try to let the children have a look again after a while. If you have some books at home, you can go to the library to change some books on different topics, which can enrich your child's cognition and expand your child's thinking.
7. Reading picture books before going to bed, one after another, should I keep reading according to the child's wishes, or should I stop while sleeping? Will this stop him from reading?
Reading before going to bed is actually a reading habit, and the cultivation of the habit needs us to stick to it every day. For example, at 9 o'clock every night, it is time to study. Generally speaking, it takes about 30 minutes to read to children. If the children especially like it, we can spend a little more time, but it can't be unlimited. It should be said according to the specific situation. For example, you are very tired today, but the children still let you read. In fact, you don't want to watch it anymore. I still suggest that the company we give our children is efficient. If you really don't want to read it, don't tell your child, because you are already dealing with it at this time, and your child can feel it. You can tell your child that it's time to study today. You can inform or discuss in advance, but it is not unlimited. So the time spent with children is not for reading, but really for companionship. Even if I read for 30 minutes, it is still efficient. But I don't really want to read it to her after 30 minutes, so I'll just deal with it there, so I might as well not read it.
8. Some sexual problems of babies over one year old:
(1) Babies under one year old don't understand picture books and don't pay attention to them. After reading two pictures, they play something else. What should I do?
(2) The baby is only interested in a few picture books. Should he continue to tell these books to the children or should he continue to add new picture books? There are many picture books at home. How can we better provide these picture books for children?
(3) One-and-a-half-year-old babies only like to look at pictures they know, such as shoes and fish, and keep repeating words they know. If you turn a page, turn it back or stop listening.
(4) I feel that the one-and-a-half-year-old baby is still in the word stage and can't understand the whole picture story. I told her in a lively voice and emotion, but there was still no response. Is it because I'm under age, or is there something wrong with my reading method?
(5) One-year-old and five-month-old babies sometimes have a staged feeling when reading. Some days I can listen to your stories carefully, and some days I don't watch them at all.
(6) a baby of one year and four months. It's better to bring a few books at a time. I feel that he will stop reading a few pages in each book and then take another book. Still the same. Which page should I read or pull him back?
(7) There are four Harle picture books at the age of one. Do you still need to make up stories? Or just read the next few words, but the child is not interested in these words.
(8) Four picture books of Harle at the age of one can arouse his attention and interest by asking questions. Isn't this the existence of utilitarian heart? What should I do?
(9) When the baby is one and a half years old, read books, look at pictures and know things with him. He only reads what he has read and knows. If he changed a book, he wouldn't read it. Is it because he can't say anything new and can't get praise and encouragement, so he doesn't like watching it?
First of all, we need to know the characteristics of babies over one year old. Most babies at this stage will leave, which means that they can explore more independently, so they are more easily attracted to the outside world, and it is normal for their attention to drop.
Secondly, it is necessary to clarify the goals or expectations of parent-child reading at this stage. Many parents expect their children to sit down and read carefully, read for a long time, or be utilitarian, and hope that children can learn what adults see through picture books. These expectations are unreasonable. The focus of this stage should be to cultivate children's reading habits. Generally speaking, it is enough to know that books are for reading and that you have to study at a certain time every day.
Third, it will be much easier to look at the above questions when we understand the children's stage characteristics and define the goals. Specifically, first of all, if we expect our children to study hard, we need to ask ourselves, is there a suitable environment at home? Do family members (parents) have the habit of reading? Are the books we read to our children suitable for their age? If the answers to these three questions are "no", it is unreasonable for parents to expect their children to study hard. If all three answers are "yes", then there is only one thing parents need to do, that is, stick to a fixed time, preferably a fixed place. For example, before going to bed every day, after the baby takes a shower and goes to bed, he takes out some books, so that the baby will know it's time to study. Some books or pictures the baby likes very much. Read more. Some don't like it or the baby refuses it directly, so put it away. Make reading a happy and interesting thing, and over time, habits will be formed.
Finally, I remind you repeatedly that although reading is very important, parent-child reading cannot be read for the sake of reading, and parent-child relationship comes first. Picture books are just a way for us to express our love. Reading is the bridge of our parent-child interaction, which ensures high-quality parent-child relationship, understands children's needs, respects children's wishes, and naturally forms reading habits.
Reading is very important, but haste makes waste, so don't worry, don't worry, don't worry!
Postscript: Teacher Wen is very busy, but I don't make friends with her selflessly, and my usual contact is limited to taking my children to the picture library. When I made this request to her, I was actually quite uneasy, because my group was established by my personal hobby, and it was necessary to answer these questions. However, even so, she promised me that she would reply as soon as the things at hand were busy. Then I waited for more than a week and she was free. She sent a voice at midnight 12. She sent it there, I sorted it out here, and finally wrote more than 6 thousand words. I think, maybe because we are all book lovers, we are willing to do such meaningless things in the eyes of others.
