Coping with academic misconduct: the common responsibility of individuals, institutions and society
Academic misconduct refers to the violation of academic integrity and moral norms in the academic field. These behaviors include plagiarism, tampering with data, false signature and evaluation fraud. In order to deal with this problem, we need to create an honest, fair and transparent academic environment from three dimensions: individuals, institutions and society.

Personal dimension

Individuals should strengthen self-discipline, cultivate correct academic ethics, be strict with themselves and consciously abide by academic norms. At the same time, strengthen the understanding of the harm of academic misconduct, and deeply understand the importance of academic norms and integrity through education and training. When writing a paper or report, follow the citation and reference standards to ensure that all the cited contents are correctly identified.

Institutional level

Academic institutions and publishing units should establish a sound mechanism to prevent and deal with academic misconduct, and clarify academic norms and punishment measures. Strengthen supervision and use technical means (such as plagiarism detection software) to identify and prevent academic misconduct. Regularly carry out academic integrity education to improve the moral level and legal awareness of teachers and students.

Social dimension

Encourage the public and the media to participate in the supervision and reporting of academic misconduct, and form an atmosphere in which the whole society maintains academic integrity. Improve relevant laws and regulations, give legal sanctions to academic misconduct, and increase its violation cost. Advocate the social fashion of honesty and trustworthiness, and incorporate academic integrity into the socialist core values education system.
