6. Latest development: The Ministry of Labor issued 26 national professional standards, including marriage and family counselors.
From June 5, 2008 to1October 2, 2008, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security issued 26 national occupational standards, including marriage and family counselors, to the labor and social security departments (bureaus) of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government and the labor security institutions of relevant departments in the State Council. Among them, the National Professional Standard for Marriage and Family Counselors was compiled and formulated by the China Marriage and Family Research Association of the All-China Women's Federation for 7 months. Experts from Lily Net, China Women's College, peking university health science center and China Academy of Social Sciences participated in the formulation of professional standards. The vocational qualification training of this profession has also started, and the first qualification examination was held in Beijing on June 2, 2009. On July 20 10, the industry public consultation forum "Home of Marriage and Family Counselors" initiated by the first group of counselors was opened to the public; From 20 10, Hunan, Chongqing, Shandong and other places have also started vocational qualification training and examination. Emotional counselors (marriage and family counselors) are gradually being accepted by the public.
