Article 1 This Law is formulated in order to strengthen archives management, standardize archives collection and arrangement, effectively protect and utilize archives, improve the level of archives informatization construction, promote the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity, and serve the cause of Socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Article 2 This Law shall apply to the collection, arrangement, protection, utilization, supervision and management of archives.
