Ningxia Police Vocational College is located in Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is a full-time college at the specialist level approved by the people's government of the autonomous region and filed by the Ministry of Education.

It is the only police vocational college in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, one of the first three pilot colleges in the reform of the national political and legal police recruitment and training system, and the first demonstration vocational college in the autonomous region determined by the deputy department-level institutions managed by Ningxia Public Security Department and Ningxia Education Department.

The predecessor of Ningxia Police Officer Vocational College is Ningxia Political and Legal Cadre School, which was established in 1980.
