The sailing competition of the19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2022 was held at Zhejiang Ocean Sports Center (Yafan Center) in China, which is located in the Changzuitou area of Songlanshan, Xiangshan County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, and is the first project in Zhejiang Province that meets the requirements for hosting an international A-level water sports competition. It is about 9 kilometers from Xiangshan city center and about 30 minutes' drive from Ningbo Athletes Village. Competition time: September 2022 14 to September 2 1.
The center includes sailing competition and warm-up venues, related competitions and supporting service rooms. The natural conditions of the plot are very superior, and the sea area, wind direction, ocean wandering direction, climate and water temperature are very suitable for holding large-scale marine sports competitions. The total construction area is 16403 square meters.
The reason for choosing the venue
First of all, there are four distinct seasons and a mild climate in Lansong Mountain area, and the annual temperature is between 10-32℃. The mild climate and water temperature ensure that competitions and training can be held all year round.
Second, there are many wide, barrier-free and unconditional deep water areas in Blue Songshan. And the average natural water depth (at low tide) is more than 3 meters, and the average water depth of the waterway (at low tide) is more than 6 meters, so many competitions such as sailing and windsurfing can be held at the same time.
Third, the Songlanshan competition venues are all in the offshore area of 1-2 nautical miles, so there is no need for long-distance raids to meet the logistics support and life-saving rescue requirements of competition training. Moreover, the wind direction and wind speed in Lan Song sea area are stable all the year round, and the average monthly wind speed is between 4.0m/s and 5.0m/s, which is suitable for navigation.
Fourth, Xiangshan has a good foundation for sailing. 1998 the national youth sailing training base was established in lansongshan, and many national and provincial sailing (rowing) competitions were held.
