The reason is love, of course. If you can do what you love, you are really lucky.

Especially now illustrations have been widely used in all walks of life, including startup pages, banners, special topics, refresh pages, details pages, icons, pop-up boxes, background pictures, holiday splash screens, expression packs, packaging, vi design, book illustrations, and many illustrations. Even now, illustrations in ui design have become a plus item. It is so important to know how to illustrate. Even if it's just a hobby, you will find the whole life better.

This year, many people asked me, can I really learn illustration well without taking classes and laying a foundation? Are you really zero-based? My study experience tells me that it is possible! No one is born to be an illustrator. Excellent illustrators learn a little, so can we. And many illustrators are very good at sharing, and I have benefited a lot from it. Although there is still a big gap between my paintings and theirs, I am glad that I have made rapid progress in sorting out my works this year.

Three _ There is no way to teach yourself illustrations. In fact, I am just digging a hole for myself.

At the beginning, when I taught myself illustration, I knew that I was reading with a book or pulling a bunch of video tutorials from the Internet, but I always felt that I was stuck in my study. My study was always in a mess and my mind was in a mess. On the road of self-study, the more you go forward and work harder, the more you have an impulse to give up. My heart really broke down.

Later, I consulted my college classmate Wang. After graduating from college, she made illustrations. She said you didn't even reach the level of half a bottle and less than one bottle. How dare you play self-study You're confused about the most basic concepts. You are not teaching yourself. You are deceiving yourself. Then Wang put me in a large learning resource (skirt) with original pictures and illustrations, in which all kinds of video tutorials are systematic, and teachers share relevant knowledge every day. I just listen to them every day, not to mention, I really study illustrations seriously, and my inner doubts are swept away.

Many friends have been asking me how to find a large-scale learning resource (skirt) for original painting illustrations. Let me share it with you. Four _ I can copy the process of learning illustration, believe in myself and expect the future.

(1) If a worker wants to do a good job, he must first sharpen his tools.

My usual tools include a computer, PS software and wacom hand-drawn board. My computer is a macbookpro 15 inch notebook. At present, all my illustrations are drawn by PS, which is the most comprehensive software compared with SAI, AI and SKETCH. Hand-drawn board needs some feel, many friends say it is not very good, just practice it a few times. Maybe it's because I just don't have a hand-drawn foundation. The first time I used the hand-drawn board, I felt very good. I thought a few strokes on the board could be presented by PS. It's so interesting. I fell in love with the hand-drawn board, so I didn't transition from paper to hand-drawn board when I came into contact with illustrations, but started to use hand-drawn board directly, and repeatedly checked the missing parts according to the problems I encountered.

(2) Copy-if you can't copy it, copy it first.

Because there is no art foundation, hand-drawing is the most difficult for me. At first, I really couldn't draw it I found some beautiful illustrations from the internet and picked some simple pictures, such as some plants, a small animal and a villain.

(3) semi-copying-imitation is boring, and imitation requires skill.

I copied about three or four. In fact, I have mastered several expressions of board drawing, and I will find that compared with the original, the copied ones are still good. Next, I found it useless to just plagiarize, because even the best plagiarism is the result of others. You are just imitating, and all you can learn is the expression of the original, that is, some software technologies. If you really want to draw by yourself, there is no idea in your mind and you don't know how to write in your hands.

At this time, I began to try semi-copying, that is, adding some of my own ideas on the basis of the original work, which is equivalent to adding some of my own hand-painted ideas to the mastered techniques. By collecting materials (first drawing a draft on paper, then taking photos with my mobile phone and sending it to PS for painting), or changing the composition of the original picture, I replaced or modified what I thought was useful into the original picture. In short, it is to modify the original works according to your own ideas. These are all works of that stage. It is difficult for me to do this step well without an art foundation. At that time, I thought it was difficult to draw anything, so I practiced in my notebook, but I still felt that the progress was too slow behind closed doors.

From the learning foundation mentioned by Wang, I found a set of sketch courses to make up for the artistic skills that everyone has always mentioned. At first, I couldn't draw straight lines, so I began to practice drawing straight lines, shaping geometric figures, tuning, shaping the relationship between light and shade, and so on. By learning sketch, I began to have a systematic understanding of the expression and modeling of light and shadow.

Learn sketch-geometry, still life, landscape, human structure and sketch. I will apply what I have learned to my board painting as much as possible, and gradually feel less laborious and hand-drawn will be better.

(4) originality-learn from others and form your own.

The next step is originality. In fact, originality is not completely conceived out of thin air and then drawn, but based on many materials. My method is to collect pictures and photos of what I want to draw online, find out what I like, and then collect the elements involved in the picture in my mind from different fields and combine them into a picture according to my own ideas. This confirms a sentence: innovation is a new combination of old elements.

In addition, at this stage, I also began to learn more board painting techniques. I often ask teachers in the learning base for many video tutorials, and then draw with them, because illustrations have many styles, such as realism, plane, texture and so on. For me, I like the plain and fresh style, so I will analyze how these illustrations are represented, what brushes are used, how the graininess is made, what materials are superimposed, and why the colors are beautiful. Then I began to summarize these techniques and become my own things, but I can't copy them, but use them invisibly to form my own style.

Learning needs a process and hardship. Don't always think about getting there in one step. This is unrealistic. We should be down-to-earth, pay attention to ways and means, show wisdom in our efforts, and make efforts in wisdom.

(1) About software

There was an episode in the study of PS software, because I studied illustration before, and of course I didn't know what a hand-drawn board was at that time. At that time, I studied photography. Because I like photography better, photography will inevitably be done later, so I began to learn PS retouching or making posters. Well, the episode is over and the real dry goods are here.

I learned PS by reading a book called PS Non-trace. This book is very thick. I just resigned in June last year,165438+1October. I watched it for almost a month, but I really studied very carefully at that time. After graduation, I seldom read reference books so hard, and I also made various marks. I admire myself now. After reading this book, I really felt that I was proficient in PS, haha. In fact, if you just paint, you don't need to master it. What you use is nothing more than those tools.

(2) About the website

The websites I use the most every day are Station Cool and Petals, which have many excellent works that can be used to copy and practice. There are also some design competitions on the China of Station Cool and UI. Interested parties can take part in it. I have participated in poster design competitions and some pattern design competitions, which are all good experiences, mainly because I can learn what ideas and expressions other excellent designers will use under the same topic.

It is also helpful to make good use of petal net. Usually, you can collect all your favorite illustrations or materials into the petal net, and you can go directly to see them when you use them, like a fortune of your own. I also have a special collection of my inspiration library, which is full of some creative materials I have browsed, and basically there will be a point that I can hardly think of. Then, when I am not inspired, I will go through it and often get something.

(3) About books

I used to work in a state-owned enterprise. State-owned enterprises really feel like frogs boiled in warm water. Now think about that time, either going to work or doing nothing after work. On weekends, I think about how to relax, where to go shopping, Taobao and buy all kinds of clothes. The wardrobe is full, but I still have no clothes to wear when the season changes. ......

I have changed a lot since I resigned last year. What buy buy bought was not clothes, but various books, such as design, illustration, photography, learning methods, copywriting, operation, quality of life and so on. (4) About creation

Creation is actually an effective presentation after a lot of accumulation. I think the accumulation here is to watch more, practice more and record more.

How to explain the illustrations in Xiaoshitang story? The author's bleak behavior set off his bleak feelings.

After the story of Xiaoshitang (Part I) was added with new illustrations in August 2007, many teachers, especially those who saw the illustrations in 2004 and 2005, wanted to know the reasons for the frequent changes in illustrations. I also think that if the story can be known to everyone, it may play a role in attracting jade. This article is specially written for readers.

From June 5438 to October 2005 10, the grade preparation group asked me to have a teaching and research class. I chose Liu Zongyuan's "A Story of the Pond", and I finished reading one lesson. To tell the truth, I have taught this article seven or eight times. I can be handy, the content words are clear, the text translation is smooth, and the author's thoughts and feelings are clear, thus completing the teaching task. However, the Chinese curriculum standard says that "we should creatively understand and use teaching materials, actively develop curriculum resources and flexibly use various teaching strategies to guide students to learn to learn in practice." So, how to teach this course well according to the new curriculum standard?

Holding the textbook, I pondered it over and over again. There are illustrations in the article, and I want to prepare lessons from here.

Looking at the illustrations in the textbook, I was lost in thought: in that picture, nearly four-fifths of the bamboo forests are heading north, with bare stones behind them. No, it doesn't match the text. At this time, my interest came.

I made a stick figure according to the content of the text: the center of the picture is a pool, there are fish swimming around in the clear water, and there are bamboo forests around it. People sitting by the pool are bored. I think the meaning of such pictures and words is the same.

So, I drew up the structure of this teaching and research course: familiar with the text, "appreciating" illustrations, teachers and students translating together, and collectively creating illustrations. In my opinion, familiarity with textbooks is the foundation, on the one hand, it is the need of Chinese teaching, on the other hand, it is also the premise of the following links; The purpose of "appreciation" is to understand the original picture and seek "standing" in "breaking"; The purpose of translating and sorting out the text is to understand the meaning of the text and create new illustrations collectively, which should integrate the general content of the text.

Well, I think we can work together to create a new painting by teaching the content of the text and understanding the main idea of the article. " The classroom soon quieted down and the cheerful students were full of curiosity.

Compared with the notes, after the students translated and revised them themselves, I told the writing background, highlighting the author's mood of "happiness with sadness" at that time.

Next, according to the meaning of the text, while reading and understanding the text, we create stick figures on the blackboard:

How to improve the stick figure before it can enter the teaching material? I want to understand and appreciate Liu Zongyuan's articles, which is the key to creating illustrations. So, I spent nearly a month looking for information and further studying the content of the text. I locked in Liu Zongyuan's articles "Movement" and "Happiness and Sadness". Based on this, I wrote "Appreciation of Xiaoshitang and Revision of Illustrations of Soviet Education Edition".

At this time, my sister Sun went home. She was a reporter from Jiangsu People's Broadcasting Station. She has extensive contacts with painters and painters in Nanjing. I told her that I wanted to find a painter who was good at figure painting to finish it. She happily remembered Mr. Deshun Wang, a famous figure painter who painted Ma Tiantu for Yang Liwei not long ago. At the end of February 2005, she gave him my articles and sketches.

On May 25th, 2006, according to my intention, I got Mr. Deshun Wang's painting. "Little Stone Pond" is a "meditation map", fixed by a bamboo pool. The author watches and observes silently, and people and fish appreciate each other. In fact, it is a clear cup of Kuding tea, with the fragrance in the front and the taste in the back.

Although Liu Zongyuan is not as sad and resentful as Qu Zi Xing Yin, his loneliness and resentment are in the same strain. His life is bumpy and his career is frustrated. He wants to get rid of it but he can't get rid of it. When he wrote "Biography of Pond", he was already a disgraced official, a frustrated scholar, "far away from the rivers and lakes", and although he also "missed the monarch", he was more deposed and lonely. Therefore, travel around the mountains, express leisure, comfort your heart, show elegance, and be comfortable for the time being. This is his landscape complex, which is expressed in the article, but it is a touch of sadness.

You see, "cutting bamboo to take the road" in inaccessible places shows the strong interest of tourists. "Through the bamboo, I can smell the sound of water, like singing a ring", but I didn't see the sound of pool shadow rubbing first, so I wrote it sweetly, clearly and vividly. "Walk 120 steps to the west", "There are hundreds of fish in the pond", stroll through the small pond and count the fish; "For the jade, for the island, for the rock", look at the four shapes; "Green trees are lush, vines are everywhere", meditating on the four bodies; "The sun shines through and the shadow is on the stone", witnessing the vivid shadow of the fish; The small fish in the pond are vivid, or "just stand still", or "M goes and disappears", or "swims and swings". It is also evident that the stream and its shore are "competing for snakes" and "the dog's teeth are different". Here, the author pondered a relatively static plane and outlined it with meticulous brushwork, making it wonderful, free and easy, beautiful and unforgettable.

"Surrounded by bamboo forests, there is no one around." The author took a photo of himself in Lintan, alone. There is no sound, no birds chirping, no insects chirping, but the taste of the stream is Ding Dong. Occasionally, the wind comes and the leaves move, which means the fish swim together, adding infinite silence and loneliness. The mountain is still, the pool is still, and people are still. However, is the heart still?

On the edge of Xiaoshitang, the author heard the sound of running water for the first time. It sounded like it was ringing, and it was really "music". When I saw the fish in the pond so cute, I thought they were "having fun with the swimmers". But Xiaoshitang, after all, is too quiet and clear. It is like a mirror with subtle insights, which not only arouses the author's leisure, but also arouses the author's coldness and sadness, forming an inextricable cycle. It is extremely difficult to reconcile the author's contradictory mentality of eating, drinking, having fun and never forgetting anything. In fact, when he wrote about the movement of fish, he wrote about the quiet environment; Writing fish music is to set off the poet's melancholy. This is a vivid portrayal of his mood at that time.

Liu Zongyuan was persecuted for participating in Wang's political reform and was exiled to Yongzhou, lonely and miserable. He does what he gives and goes far, wandering in the mountains and rivers, just to dispel the resentment and depression in his heart. But the more I want to send him away, the stronger the feeling, so he looks at the scenery with emotion and expresses his feelings through the scenery. A tree, a bamboo, a spring and a stone all seem to have specific personalities. On the contrary, the author's depressed mood is helpful to observe things, and he finds infinite interest in things in silence, thus generating interest in silence. As a result, after remembering the pool of "sadness and cold, sadness and silence", the author finally can't help it: "It's too clear to live long, but remember to walk away", showing a detached desire.

The most striking feature of this paper is the meticulous description of the scenery, the combination of motion and static, the timely and implicit expression of emotions, and the need for special attention when reading and appreciating.

In view of the above understanding, I drew a sketch on the blackboard with my students, which deepened their understanding of the content of the article. At the same time, I also put forward the following opinions on the illustrations in the first volume of the eighth grade of the Soviet Education Edition (4th edition, June 2005):

1. The article is entitled "The Story of Little Stone Pond", and "Little Stone Pond" should be the main body of the illustration. In the five sections of the full text, the content of writing about the pool accounts for three sections, so the illustrations should not be large bamboo forests, but landscape paintings centered on the pool. At least hint at the stone beach.

2. "Cutting bamboo to take the road" means that the bamboo forest is dense and there is no way to go. Inverting bamboo can be looming, and it is by no means a smooth road after people in the picture.

3. "Green trees and green vines" and "surrounded by bamboo forests" below should form a scene of Zhong Zhulin alternating with each other and vines, not just tall and straight bamboo roots. There should be broad-leaved trees in the bamboo forest, not just one. They grow around Xiaoshitang, are implicated by vines, and get along very well. Only in this way can they be "covered and staggered".

4. "Looking southwest of the pool, you can see the snake." Write the shape of the southwest stream outside Yuanwangtan. "Dogs have different teeth" means writing about the shore. From the southwest, it is conceivable that the author was in the "first quadrant" at that time. There is "sitting by the pool" below, which can be inferred that the author is meditating, which coincides with his state of mind of "freezing cold, sadness and tranquility". In the illustration, the author stands there. According to the geographical direction, he is heading northeast, facing a bamboo forest!

5. "The whole stone is the bottom, near the shore, and the bottom of the stone rolls out." This sentence means that the pool is a stone and the clear foundation of the pool water. It is enough to show that the pool wall in the painting is rock.

"There are hundreds of fish in the pond" is a vivid description of the fish in the pond. Reflected in the painting or the static scenery where the fish stay, or the dynamic that suddenly goes away.

In short, the illustration of Xiaoshitang should be a landscape painting with Xiaoshitang and bamboo forest as the background and Liu Zongyuan's concentrated thoughts as the center.

Based on the above understanding, I invited the famous painter Mr. Deshun Wang to create the illustration of Little Stone Pond. It can be titled "sad cold bones, sad silence." I think the new illustrations can be consistent with the original content, which is helpful for students to understand the content of the text and improve the aesthetic taste of the teaching materials.
