Metallurgy is an applied subject, which extracts valuable metals or their compounds from ores to process energy materials. This major studies metallurgical physical chemistry, steel metallurgy and nonferrous metallurgy, and can engage in production, design, scientific research and management in the metallurgical field.
Students majoring in metallurgical engineering mainly study the basic theory, production technology and equipment, experimental research, design methods, environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of resources of ferrous metals and nonferrous metals, and carry out training in smelting process formulation, engineering design, testing skills and scientific research. Have the ability to develop new technologies, new processes and new materials, and organize and manage industrial design and production.
Graduates are suitable to engage in product design, production, technology development, production organization and management, product sales and scientific research in large and medium-sized metallurgical enterprises, metallurgical related equipment manufacturing, metallurgical raw and auxiliary materials production and sales and other industries.
