The market supervision bureau is a public institution.

The Market Supervision Bureau, formed by the merger of law enforcement departments of several units, is responsible for handling violations of laws, regulations and rules such as industrial and commercial administration, quality and technical supervision, intellectual property protection, food safety supervision and price supervision and inspection.

The General Administration of Market Supervision implements the principles, policies and decision-making arrangements of the CPC Central Committee on market supervision and management, and upholds and strengthens the Party's centralized and unified leadership over market supervision and management in the process of performing its duties.

The main responsibilities of the market supervision bureau

(a) responsible for the comprehensive supervision and management of the city's market. Draft local laws and government regulations related to market supervision and management, formulate relevant policies and standards, and organize the implementation of the strategy of strengthening the city with quality, food safety, standardization and intellectual property rights. Formulate and organize the implementation of relevant plans, standardize and maintain market order, and create a fair competition, honest and trustworthy market environment.

(two) responsible for the registration of foreign-invested enterprises in this Municipality. Guide the registration of various enterprises, farmers' professional cooperatives, units engaged in business activities, individual industrial and commercial households and other market entities in the city. Handle the registration of foreign-invested enterprises in this Municipality according to law. Establish information disclosure and * * * sharing mechanism for market participants, publicize and * * * share relevant information according to law, strengthen credit supervision, and promote the construction of credit system for market participants.

(three) responsible for organizing and guiding the city's market supervision and management of comprehensive administrative law enforcement work. Responsible for the construction of comprehensive administrative law enforcement team for market supervision and management, and promote the implementation of unified market supervision. Organize to investigate and deal with illegal cases of market production and operation. Standardize market supervision and management and administrative enforcement of intellectual property rights. Improve the market supervision and management of administrative law enforcement and criminal justice convergence mechanism.

(four) responsible for the unified anti-monopoly law enforcement. Promote the implementation of competition policy as a whole and guide the implementation of fair competition review system. Organize and guide the investigation and punishment of illegal price charging, unfair competition, illegal direct selling, pyramid selling, illegal advertising, manufacturing and selling counterfeit goods, infringement of trademarks and patent intellectual property rights. Guide the development of advertising industry and supervise and manage advertising activities. Guide the Municipal Consumer Rights Protection Committee to carry out consumer rights protection work.

People's Republic of China (PRC) Product Quality Law Article 8 The market supervision and management department of the State Council is in charge of the national product quality supervision. Relevant departments of the State Council are responsible for product quality supervision within their respective responsibilities. Local market supervision and management departments at or above the county level shall be in charge of product quality supervision within their respective administrative areas. The relevant departments of the local people's governments at or above the county level shall be responsible for product quality supervision within the scope of their respective duties. Where the law provides otherwise for the product quality supervision department, the relevant laws shall prevail.
