What is NBS?
As mentioned upstairs, NBS is N- bromosuccinimide, a substance with five-membered ring structure, and its structure is shown in the figure.

It is mainly used as an initiator of free radical reaction, and the Br radical is generated by the cleavage of N-Br bond. The final result of the reaction is that Br replaces the active hydrogen (α-H).
