(three) responsible for the management of meteorological monitoring and forecasting within their respective administrative areas, timely put forward meteorological disaster prevention measures, conduct meteorological disaster assessment, and provide decision-making basis for the people's government at the corresponding level to organize meteorological disaster prevention; To manage the release of public meteorological forecasts, severe weather warnings, agricultural meteorological forecasts, urban environmental meteorological forecasts, fire danger meteorological grade forecasts and other professional meteorological forecasts within their respective administrative areas.

(four) to manage the weather modification work in their respective administrative areas, and to guide and organize the weather modification work; Organize and manage the lightning disaster prevention work, and guide the detection of lightning disaster protection devices installed in buildings, structures and other facilities that may be struck by lightning in conjunction with relevant departments.

(five) responsible for the people's government at the same level and the relevant departments to put forward suggestions on the utilization and protection of climate resources and the popularization and application of climate resources zoning and other achievements; Organize the climate feasibility demonstration of climate resources development and utilization projects.

(six) the organization of meteorological legal publicity and education, responsible for supervising the implementation of relevant meteorological laws and regulations, punishing acts in violation of the relevant provisions of the Meteorological Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), and undertaking relevant administrative reconsideration and administrative litigation.

(seven) unified leadership and management of the planned finance, personnel and labor, scientific research and training and business construction of meteorological departments within their respective administrative areas; Cooperate with the county (city, district) people's government to implement dual management of county (city, district) meteorological institutions; Assist local party committees and governments to do a good job in spiritual civilization construction and ideological and political work of local meteorological departments.

(eight) to undertake other tasks assigned by the competent meteorological department at a higher level and the people's government at the same level.
