Drawing method of Revit curtain wall:
In Revit software, there is a curtain wall network command under the building panel. However, painting the curtain wall is not our command, but the object it gives is the surface model we created. Usually, we need to draw a curtain wall from the wall command. Click the building wall, find the curtain wall in the drop-down box on the left, and then click Switch.
Curtain wall painting is the same as ordinary wall, so I won't go into details here. When drawing a curtain wall, we should pay attention to two points, namely, its components: mullions and panels.
① Vertical stile
The mullion needs to be attached to the grid, so the whole curtain wall needs to be cut before placing the mullion, that is, the grid is given. There are two ways to specify the grid, one is to edit the grid in the curtain wall type properties, and the other is to use the curtain wall grid to customize the grid.
Curtain wall type attribute editing
Select the curtain wall, and click Edit Type to edit the vertical and horizontal grids.
There are many forms of grid layout, such as fixed distance, fixed number, maximum spacing, minimum spacing and so on. This form of layout often sets a grid to divide the whole curtain wall evenly.
Custom grid distribution
Click the curtain wall grid to arrange a single grid line on the curtain wall, and the grid line spacing can be adjusted by itself. Mouse in the upper and lower boundaries, vertical drawing, left and right boundaries, horizontal drawing.
You can delete and merge drawn gridlines. Select a grid line and select Add/Delete line segments above to operate the currently selected grid line.
After determining the grid lines, you can stile them. Click the mullion command, and you can choose to give a single mullion or a single mullion. In most cases, all grids have stiles. Before the mullion is given, you need to set the type of mullion. On the left side of the property bar, you can switch the type of mullion and create a new mullion.
Uniformly distributed grids can also be directly given mullion form in curtain wall editing type. Click Vertical Mullion and Horizontal Mullion to set mullions for their respective internal types, boundary 1 types and boundary 2 types.
② panel
Curtain wall panels are generally glass by default, which is our common glass curtain wall. But in some special cases, we need to replace the curtain wall panel, and the common replacement type is door and window panel replacement.
Move the mouse to the edge of the panel that needs to be replaced, and switch objects by TAB until the panel outline is displayed in the drawing area. Click the left mouse button to select it.
Click the property bar on the left to edit the type. The default panel types are glass and solid, and we need to load them ourselves. Click "Load" above to enter the family library, select the "Curtain Wall" folder under the "Architecture" folder, find the corresponding door and window panel to be loaded, and click "OK" to replace it with a new door and window panel.
You can arrange the loaded door and window panels according to the grid size without modifying the related dimensions.
The drawing of curtain wall focuses on the distribution of grid lines, which is not only an important basis for cutting curtain wall, but also the main body of mullion accessories. Therefore, the layout of grid lines should be accurate, the separated places should be separated, and the merged places should be merged to ensure the normal setting of mullions and panels in the later period.
