I think there are two bad reasons. First, the textbook pays attention to reading and writing, which is too textbook and suitable for older children. I think the 6-year-old big class is still suitable for training classes, which is not in line with my family education concept of playing middle school.
Second, there are more new words in the original textbook. If the vocabulary is not accumulated enough in the early stage, it will not be easily accepted by children whose mother tongue is not English.
3. Play the textbook: Twitter, read the main course naturally.
-Use feedback: Children love it. There are videos, games and pronunciation exercises, which are especially good. As a supplement to Mr. Sun's natural spelling class, review and consolidate. But if there is no teacher Sun's class as the basis, children may not remember all the pronunciations by playing a game directly.

My experience in choosing natural spelling materials is as follows:
1. The original English materials should be carefully selected. Whether it is a textbook or a picture book, it is not easy to read without a mother tongue background. However, the original English picture book still needs to be read. After all, the language is authentic, but at this stage, we should choose the simple level of entry to read.
Even if you study English for more than 1 year, it is not easy to read the original picture books, and the reading obstacles caused by the influence of the mother tongue environment are very great.
2. Now I prefer to choose the rewritten picture book published by FLTRP, which keeps the picture and main plot of the classic story, simplifies the sentence without affecting the interest, and is more suitable for China baby.
For example, the classic story of Thomas and his friends' English enlightenment I mentioned above is a simplified version published by FLTRP, but it retains Thomas' classic picture and plot. There are many similar books published by FLTRP. I will collect more in the future and give you feedback after I use it.
3. Children's interests are particularly important. In fact, Thomas' story picture book is not in my book list at all, but I think she likes Thomas' spelling picture book, so she quickly searched Thomas' related books and added 1 set of story picture books. So she can really know the words in the book, and she doesn't remember them by her children's good memories. Because in some Chinese books, she can almost point to the Chinese characters in the book to repeat the story, but in fact, she doesn't know those Chinese characters, just remember them after listening.
Secondly, she may not really know all the words in the book, because the pictures in English graded picture books certainly help her understand. If it were an adult book in plain text, she might not understand it either.
However, it doesn't matter how many words she really knows. Importantly, her natural spelling ability enabled her to read by herself in just three months, which made her feel a sense of accomplishment and began to like to try reading independently.
