Fox shock absorber replacement tutorial
Ford Focus shock absorber can be disassembled as follows:

1. First loosen the nuts of four wheels in diagonal order (generally, four shock absorbers are replaced at the same time), and do not unscrew them completely. Then use the hoist to lift the car, which is not too high, and the wheels are just a distance from the ground, which is convenient for operation;

2. Next, completely unscrew the wheel nut with a sleeve in diagonal order, and remove the wheel. Depending on the vehicle model, it may be necessary to remove the brake cylinder to facilitate the removal of the shock absorber, then remove the fixing bolt of the arm and loosen the fixing nut of the shock absorber arm;

3. Fix the shock absorber arm with the caliper jack, open the engine hood, then loosen the body fixing nut at the upper end of the shock absorber (not completely unscrewed), turn the caliper jack to lift the shock absorber arm upward until the lower end of the shock absorber is separated from the front axle fixing place, then slowly remove the shock absorber, then slowly lower the shock absorber arm until the shock absorption elasticity is completely released, then completely loosen the body fixing nut at the upper end of the shock absorber and remove the shock absorber;

4. After removing the shock absorber, use the spring remover of the shock absorber to fix the spring, so as to avoid the spring moving upward and outward when removing the top screw. It is best to have two repairmen to remove the shock absorber, one for supporting and one for screwing. Remove and replace damaged parts of shock absorber and rubber guard. Under normal circumstances, the spring of the shock absorber does not need to be replaced if there is no serious corrosion or fracture;

5. When reassembling the shock absorber, grease should be applied to improve the wear resistance. Fix the upper end of the assembled shock absorber with the car body, not in place, as long as the shock absorber does not fall down;

6. Fix the shock absorber arm with a caliper jack, lift the shock absorber arm upward to ensure that the lower part of the shock absorber can be placed on the front axle bracket, fix the lower end of the shock absorber arm with the front axle with bolts, fix the nut of the shock absorber arm, and then screw the body fixing nut at the upper end of the shock absorber in place. Replace the remaining three shock absorbers in turn according to the same steps;

7. After replacing the shock absorber, fix the fixing nuts of the four wheels in diagonal order (don't screw them to death), then lower the car with the winch and tighten the fixing nuts of the wheels with a wrench.
