Shanghai Maritime Vocational and Technical College (hereinafter referred to as Shanghai Maritime College) is an ordinary college established with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government to train all kinds of professionals with advanced education. Its predecessor is a full-time adult college under the Ministry of Communications, which was born in 1978. 1999 was placed under the management of Shanghai according to the decision of the State Council. As early as 1986, the college took the lead in piloting higher vocational and technical education, and it is one of the oldest institutions in Shanghai.
