The predecessor of the school was the wartime training class for cadres of the General Administration of Posts and Telecommunications, which was founded in 1942 Shandong Anti-Japanese Base Area. After "Zhanyou" school, Shandong University School of Posts and Telecommunications, East China School of Posts and Telecommunications and other stages, it was transformed into an undergraduate college with the approval of the State Council in 1958, and was named Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in April 2005.
