Division of police ranks of public security police
The people's police ranks are divided into the following five grades and thirteen grades, among which the people's police who hold professional and technical positions are preceded by "professional technology". The people's police who hold administrative posts shall prepare police ranks according to their posts. The people's police who hold professional and technical positions shall implement the following job grades to prepare police ranks.

First of all, the details are as follows

(1) The Commissioner-General and the Deputy Commissioner-General;

(2) Commissioner of Police: level 1, level 2 and level 3;

(3) Superintendent: Grade I, II and III;

(4) Superintendent: Grade I, II and III;

(5) Police: Grade I and II.

The people's police who hold professional and technical positions should be preceded by the word "professional technology".

The people's police who hold administrative posts shall implement the following job grades to prepare police ranks:

(1) Chief position at ministerial level: Commissioner-General;

(2) Deputy Minister: Deputy Commissioner-General;

(3) Chief post at the department (bureau) level: from the first-class police commissioner to the second-class police commissioner;

(4) Deputies at the department (bureau) level: level 2 to level 3 police commissioners;

(5) Chief post at department (bureau) level: from the third-level police commissioner to the second-level police inspector;

(6) Deputies at department (bureau) level: first-class police inspector to third-class police inspector;

(7) Chief post at department (bureau) level: first-class police inspector to first-class superintendent;

(8) Deputies at department (bureau) level: from the second-level police inspector to the second-level police inspector;

(9) Clerk (sheriff) position: from the third-class police inspector to the third-class police superintendent;

(10) Clerk (police officer) Position: first-class superintendent to second-class police officer.

The people's police who hold professional and technical positions shall implement the following job grades to prepare police ranks:

(a) senior professional and technical positions: first-class police inspector to second-class police inspector;

(2) Intermediate professional and technical positions: first-class police inspector to second-class superintendent;

(3) Junior professional and technical positions: from the third-class police inspector to the first-class police officer.

Second, the award conditions

The police rank of the people's police shall be compiled and awarded according to the post grade of the people's police. The conferment of the police rank of the people's police is based on their current posts, ability and political integrity, current service time and working years. Those who graduate from school and are recruited from the society to serve as the people's police, or transferred to the people's police from other departments, shall be awarded corresponding police titles according to the determined positions.

The granting of the first-class police rank to the people's police shall be approved in accordance with the following provisions:

(1) commissioner general, Deputy commissioner general, First Class Police Commissioner and Second Class Police Commissioner were awarded with the approval of Premier the State Council;

(2) Three-level police commissioners and police supervisors are granted with the approval of the Minister of Public Security;

(3) Superintendents are granted with the approval of the directors of public security departments (bureaus) of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government;

(4) Police officers shall be awarded with the approval of the director of the political department of the public security department (bureau) of a province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government.

Superintendents and police officers of the organs of the Ministry of Public Security and its directly affiliated institutions shall be granted with the approval of the director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Public Security.

Legal basis: Article 32 of the Regulations of China People's Liberation Army on Officers' Ranks. The system of soldiers' ranks is stipulated by the State Council and the Central Military Commission.

Article 33 The Chinese People's Armed Police Force implements the police rank system, and the specific measures shall be formulated by the State Council and the Central Military Commission (CMC).

Article 34 The General Staff Department and the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army of China shall formulate implementation measures according to these Regulations, which shall be implemented after being approved by the Central Military Commission (CMC).
