Brief introduction: Jilin Police College is a full-time undergraduate college with distinctive characteristics, which trains applied public security talents with high political quality, solid theoretical foundation, strong innovation ability and strong practical skills and talents adapted to economic construction. Jilin Police College has a long history. Its predecessor was Jilin Public Security Cadre School, which was founded in September 1949. In June 1980, it was transformed into Jilin Provincial People's Police School; in March 1985, it was upgraded to Jilin Public Security College; in September 1993, it was renamed Jilin Public Security College; and on March 20 10, it was upgraded. The college is located in Changchun, the northern spring city, next to Jingyuetan, the largest artificial forest in Asia. The College covers an area of 630.4 mu, with a building area of168,500 square meters, and is divided into Jingyue Campus and South Campus. The campus environment is elegant and the architecture is unique. The college has complete infrastructure, advanced teaching methods and perfect experimental equipment. The college has five basic laboratories, 365,438+0 specialized laboratories, two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 65,438+04 experimental training bases and 65,438+004 national and provincial practical teaching bases. The college has 13 undergraduate majors and 17 specialist majors, covering five disciplines: law, literature, engineering, management and economics. Four undergraduate majors were identified as "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" majors in Jilin Province. There are 305 full-time teachers in the college, including 3 professors, 74 associate professors, 58 doctors and masters, 4 provincial famous teachers and 2 provincial excellent teaching teams. The college has nearly 6000 full-time students. At the same time, the college also undertakes the tasks of promotion training of the police rank of the public security organs in Jilin Province, qualification training of new police officers and demobilized cadres, and professional training of various police officers, and trains more than 4,000 on-the-job police officers every year. The Ministry of Public Security has established "613" business training and "Information Security Training of National Anti-computer Intrusion and Anti-virus Research Center" two business training bases. The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education listed the College as a pilot institution for the reform of the recruitment and training system of national political and legal colleges, and the Provincial Public Security Department established the Jilin Provincial Police Station Director Training School in the College. The College has established friendly and cooperative relations with universities in Russia, the United States and South Korea, and exchanged students and visiting scholars with Shui Yuan University of Science and Technology in South Korea. Since its establishment 63 years ago, the college has trained more than 80,000 graduates and trained police officers, which has been widely praised by employers.
