If you are just starting to prepare, you must first take the TOEFL, and then if you want to apply to the top 50 schools in the United States, you must take the SAT 1 or ACT. If you want to apply for the top 30 schools in the United States, you need to take the SAT2 (at least two subjects).

The above is a standardized preparation for the exam. In addition, you should enrich your extracurricular activities and strengthen your soft power, which will be reflected in future documents. If you want to apply for an art major, you should also prepare a portfolio when you apply.

In the application season (that is, the first half semester of senior three), you need to prepare transcripts, proof of study, letters of recommendation, proof of parents' funds, resumes, scanned passports, personal works and so on. So you can start with TOEFL, then you must get a high GPA, and then you should take part in some extracurricular activities with high gold content (which can exercise your abilities in all aspects).

Note: The general university application requirements for Top 10 are: GPA3.8, TOEFL 1 15 or IELTS 8, SAT 1 1550+ and SAT2. The university requirements of Top 1 1-30 are: GPA3.8, TOEFL 108 or above or IELTS 7, SAT 1 1500 or so, SAT2 2-3. Top30-Top50, GPA is 3.5+, TOEFL is 90+, SAT 1 1400+, SAT2 is not necessarily.
