Summing up the past school spirit, under the guidance of the school motto of "unity, enterprising, truth-seeking and innovation", "one wind and three spirits" have accumulated in the campus, that is, learning from great workers in the school spirit, teaching style and study style, nourishing the elegance of students, the scholar spirit of teachers (the expert spirit of principals) and the academic spirit of the school. Excellent school spirit cultivates, educates and cultivates honest, practical and pragmatic workers.

The traditional campus atmosphere is characterized by "stability", "harmony" and "practicality", with obvious advantages and disadvantages. At present, the international and domestic environment is changing with each passing day, and scientific and technological innovation is advancing by leaps and bounds. "Innovation, change and development" has become an important feature of the social development in contemporary China. "What kind of people to cultivate and how to cultivate them" has become the primary problem facing the school, and "implementing elite education and cultivating elite talents" has emerged as the times require.

Students' attitude towards elite education is generally supported. Students believe that the real meaning of social elites does not mean that they have a good working environment and a high social status, enjoying the high-quality services provided by others, but that they have lofty social ideals and are willing to pay attention to the life planning of the grassroots. They are eager to create more spiritual wealth and material wealth for the society in their respective fields, reflecting greater life value, regardless of their own life enjoyment and social status. The first misunderstanding of elite education in our school is not to let students establish a "aristocratic mentality" that only knows enjoyment and is superior to others, and a "privileged consciousness" that yearns for power wholeheartedly and tries to get it by hook or by crook. What they really want to give students is not utility, but useful for the responsibility, ability and accomplishment of life. As "elites" trained under the elite education mode, they should be compound talents with virtue, knowledge, courage, diploma, education and ability.

The students made the following suggestions:

1. Build a campus atmosphere suitable for "elite education". We should add the factors of "innovation, change and development" to the traditional educational goal of "seeking stability, seeking peace and seeking truth" in our school, innovate educational concepts, innovative educational models and improve teaching methods, and cultivate students' courage of continuous exploration, spirit of being the first and ability of independent thinking.

2. Build an open campus. Strengthen foreign exchanges, including international exchanges, exchanges between well-known domestic universities and exchanges between ordinary domestic universities. As the old saying goes, "Every three people must have a teacher". Even a university ranked behind our school must have something worth learning. If our school can accept all the rivers with an open mind, then it will certainly make far-reaching achievements on the broad basis of the university.

3. Students under the goal of "elite education" should not only have profound professional qualities, but also have relatively perfect comprehensive qualities in order to become all-round talents. Comprehensive quality includes many aspects, such as interpersonal skills, organization and coordination skills, expression skills, writing skills and so on. Talents trained by elite education should not only be able to carry out invention research, but also be able to express their thoughts, viewpoints, research directions and theoretical achievements concisely, so as to be recognized and accepted by more people.

4. Schools should cultivate elites at the teacher level and make them role models for students. Strive to cultivate and support the birth of new academicians in our school. Strengthen the participation of well-known professors and doctoral supervisors in undergraduate teaching, so that students can get in touch with the "elite" and be edified, instead of just hearing the name of "well-known professors" and not seeing them.

Second, the harmonious development of the campus environment

Students generally reflect that the current development of the school lacks a unified planning idea, and the campus building style is not uniform, the layout is chaotic, and there is a lack of characteristics. Therefore, the design should be unified from a long-term perspective.

Since the first generation of builders in our school, we have attached great importance to the construction of campus environment. It is said that the pine forests on both sides of the main entrance of our school originated from the campus planning concept of the old headmaster Qu Bochuan.

The students listed some environmental problems around them. For example, the train tracks near the east gate often gamble on cars; South gate "Hanlin Guan Hai" and "Xuefu 1+ 1" residential areas are too close to the campus; The traffic in Ximen is both dangerous and a headache; In summer, there is a stench by the Lingshui River. The surrounding environment of the North Gate dormitory is dirty and messy, which is in sharp contrast with the neat Neusoft Institute of Information Technology.

The students made the following suggestions:

1, according to the previous architectural style, design and plan the new teaching building and teaching area, even if the old and new styles are not consistent, the new architectural style should be consistent. For example, the "big black building" in the north gate is obviously out of harmony with the campus environment and should be avoided as much as possible in future planning.

2. The architecture of China pays attention to planning. Both the School of Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy and the School of Architectural Art in our school have professional architectural design talents. We should give full play to the role of experts in school planning, and plan the future building construction of the school according to certain layout principles (such as symmetry principle and harmony principle).

3. Plant more trees. Needless to say, the benefits of planting trees not only beautify the campus, but also nourish the body and mind. But at present, the big trees in our school are basically pre-race, and they are rarely added. Graduates want to contribute to the greening of the school, but it is puzzling that individual departments of the school should charge "at least 300 yuan" for buying their own saplings. It is suggested that the school open up a special open space for graduates to plant alumni forests and cultivate their alma mater so that they can develop and grow together with their alma mater.

4. Greening Huaguoshan and managing lingshui river. Huaguoshan is located in the center of the campus and has a beautiful environment. In view of the dilapidated auditorium on the mountain, the students suggested that the auditorium on the mountain be demolished and moved to other places to restore the nature of Huaguo Mountain. At the same time, we should plant flowers and fruits to make Huaguoshan worthy of the name. In summer, lingshui river smells bad, and there is a lot of rubbish in the river. If it is not treated early, lingshui river in the school song will become the "laughing stock" of students sooner or later. As the old saying goes, "The benevolent enjoys Leshan, while the wise enjoys water". The contribution of a clear stream to a university is not only the environment, but also the cultural edification of educating people.

5. Open the East Gate and rebuild the West Gate. As soon as the east gate is closed, there will be no traffic, and many vehicles that can directly enter and leave the campus will "circle" on the campus. You know, vehicles that want to enter the door will eventually come in, and vehicles that don't want to enter the door can't get in if they want to. Closing the east gate will not only increase the traffic pressure on campus, but also increase it. And most of the residents in Dongshan are teachers in our school. It is really convenient for the school to open the door of "purple gas coming from the east" Xibianmen should be rebuilt. With the construction of the neighborhood near Lily Mountain Villa, there are many cars near Xibianmen. Xibianmen is one of the gates of our school that passers-by see most. It should be redesigned, planned and built to show the image of our school.

6. The number of school sports venues is limited, and various ball venues such as basketball courts and football fields should be appropriately increased. In addition, the construction of Xishan site affects everyone's rest and life, and noise, dust and construction vehicles seriously damage the road. It is hoped that the school will strengthen management, especially requiring contractors to achieve "civilized construction".

Third, teaching and educating people to stimulate innovation.

In view of the current educational model in our school, students generally report that management is too dead to really stimulate students' innovative spirit. Some students said that at present, innovation colleges, innovation competitions and innovation projects are actually aimed at individual "top students". In fact, every student is a talented person and has great creative potential. Except for patients with congenital mental retardation or brain diseases, everyone is creative and has basically the same development potential. Modern scientific research also proves that, generally speaking, everyone's innate creativity is not much different. Tao Xingzhi put forward a long time ago: "everywhere is a place of creation, every day is a time of creation, and everyone is a creator."

Innovative education in our school must be geared to all students, especially the so-called "poor students". In the traditional innovative education in our school, teachers often attach importance to students with high IQ rather than students with high creativity, or are not interested in students with innovative consciousness and spirit at all. Because they are disobedient, undisciplined, questioning, whimsical, expressive, ambitious and so on. And these performances are exactly the characteristics that creative talents should have. 1. Renew ideas, reform practice and actively build an innovative education platform. Improve the curriculum structure, and gradually change the focus of the assessment of knowledge understanding and knowledge application to the assessment of students' knowledge innovation. Guide undergraduates to participate in scientific research, encourage students to participate in the research assistant work in the teaching and research section of this major, actively promote the learning exchange between undergraduates and graduate students, and make undergraduates have an intuitive understanding of the process of scientific achievements. Reform the examination method, increase the examination content of knowledge innovation and innovation ability in the examination. Students should increase the arrangement of innovative research topics in their after-school homework and increase the proportion of their usual homework results.

Some students reported that at present, the attendance rate of many classes is low, and the phenomenon of skipping classes is mostly the teacher's problem. Select some counselors, young talent growth planners and part-time student staff as management service teachers to undertake daily work such as dormitory hygiene and discipline management. The work is meticulous and the division of labor is clear, so that students can accurately find tutors to help solve problems if necessary.

Some students suggested that only a few classrooms in a specific teaching building should be set up with overnight study rooms, which would provide convenience for students who need to study all night for postgraduate entrance examination. Expanding the coverage of unlimited network is not limited to libraries, but can be appropriately increased to comprehensive buildings, scientific research teaching buildings and so on.

4. Expand the participation of students at all levels in school management.
