The major of acupuncture and massage in our school was established in 1980, with a history of 29 years of undergraduate education.

In recent years, this major has been carrying out educational innovation and teaching reform. The reform ideas are clear, paying attention to the cultivation of students' ability and meeting the needs of society. A diversified training platform, an acupuncture simulation autonomous learning platform and a three-dimensional virtual platform of acupoints were constructed, and the training mode of innovation ability and autonomous learning ability was improved. Graduates have strong practical ability, good social reputation and outstanding characteristics. In recent five years, many landmark achievements have been made, including the second prize of national teaching achievement 1 and the first prize of Tianjin teaching achievement. In 2006, the acupuncture experimental teaching center was rated as a national experimental teaching demonstration center, in 2008, the acupuncture course was rated as a national excellent course, and in 2008, the acupuncture teaching team was rated as a national excellent teaching team.

The construction of this major can be closely related to economic and social development. As a national acupuncture clinical research center, it has established 32 sub-centers throughout the country.
