The pre-job training of new full-time counselors focuses on cultivating counselors to know what they should know, master basic skills, improve their post adaptability, and ensure that counselors receive no less than 40 hours of induction training and pass the examination; Conduct systematic training for counselors on a regular basis, so that counselors can strengthen their ideals and beliefs, enhance their professionalism and improve their ability to perform their duties, and ensure that every full-time counselor participates in school-level training for no less than 16 hours every year, and participates in 1 national or provincial training every five years.

Counselors refer to school public officials engaged in students' ideological and political education, students' daily management, employment guidance, mental health and the construction of student party groups. Each counselor generally manages one or several classes. Counselors' duties shall be carried out according to the Professional Ability Standard for Counselors in Colleges and Universities (Provisional).
