Its predecessor was a normal school founded by Chen in the 29th year of Guangxu reign (1903). It was the earliest normal school established in Fujian Province and one of the earliest normal schools established in China at that time, and was known as "the source of teachers in Fujian".

1942 Fujian Normal School was renamed Fujian Yongan Normal School. The school was in June 194 1, in the bonfire of the anti-Japanese war. Later, the part of the school in Yong 'an developed into Sanming Normal University and Sanming University.
At that time, Chen Yi, chairman of the provincial government, and Zheng, minister of education, took a positive attitude towards establishing a middle school teacher training institution in the province. They repeatedly put forward specific plans, which were rejected by the Ministry of Education. /kloc-in the summer of 0/940, the provincial government established the provincial middle school teachers' further education college (two-year system) without the consent of the Ministry of Education to solve the urgent need. The provincial government and the Department of Education quickly sent special personnel to the Ministry of Education to explain the urgent need to establish Fujian Normal College before obtaining approval.

Fujian Teachers' College, founded in 1907, comes down in one continuous line with excellent normal schools in Fujian Province, and occupies an important position in the history of higher normal education in Fujian. Fujian Normal University was established on the basis of normal schools. The school site originally used the former Xia Ling site of the latter. Xia Ling is a remote mountain village in Yong 'an, surrounded by overlapping mountains, with a narrow scope and no room for development. 1May, 942, the spring water was full, and it went down the river to Shuinan Hougu by Shaxi River in Nanping. At that time, the conditions for teachers and students to live, work and study were extremely difficult. School funds are already tight, and prices are skyrocketing. Almost all the school buildings in the two places are wooden structures, and even the external walls are nailed with boards.
From the autumn of 1944 to the liberation of Fuzhou in August of 1949, Fujian Normal University successively succeeded Li Lizhou, Lin Xiqian, Peng Chuanzhen and Lin Tianlan. Under their management, the school scale, school equipment and teaching staff have been expanded and improved. 1June, 946, the school site was moved from Nanping to Wu Shishan, Fuzhou, the birthplace of Fujian normal education, and some of them stayed in Yong 'an and Nanping. 1In August, 949, the teachers and students of the Teachers College ushered in the liberation of Fuzhou. In September, the Provincial Military Management Committee took over the school, still known as Fujian Normal University. In September, 1950, the school was renamed as Fuzhou University; 1953 later renamed Fujian Normal University; 19716543810 In October, the Revolutionary Committee of Fujian Province decided to reopen Sanming Normal School on the basis of the original Yong 'an Normal School.

Merge and establish schools
