Taiyuan University of Technology, referred to as "Taiyuan Institute of Technology", is located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It is a national "double-first-class" construction university, a "21project" key construction university, the first batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan" universities of the Ministry of Education, and a member unit of China-Russia Engineering University Alliance and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, and has been selected as the national "165438".
National Construction of High-level University Postgraduate Program, National College Students' Innovation Experiment Program, National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, China Government Scholarship Receiving Institution for Overseas Students in China, Ministry of Education Data China "Hundred Schools Project" Pilot Institution, National New Engineering Research and Practice Project, National Innovative Talents Training Demonstration Base, National College Practice Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and the pilot universities of the "Three-round Education" comprehensive reform of the Ministry of Education.
The school was founded in 1902, and was established independently after passing through the Engineering Department of Shanxi University and the Engineering Department of Shanxi University. 1953 was named Taiyuan University of Technology, directly under the Ministry of Higher Education. 1962 belongs to Shanxi province. 1984 was renamed Taiyuan University of Technology. 1997 Taiyuan University of Technology and Shanxi Mining Institute directly under the Ministry of Coal founded by 1958 merged to form Taiyuan University of Technology.
As of September 2022, the school has four campuses, namely Mingxiang, Yingxi, Huyu and Berlin, covering an area of 210.3 million square meters, with a total construction area of 6,543.8+0.69 million square meters. There are 24 professional colleges, 1 Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school (to be built) and 93 undergraduate majors. 0/5 postdoctoral mobile stations, 0/8 first-class doctoral programs, 36 first-class master programs and 0/4 professional master programs. There are 403 full-time students11,475 international students and 4039 faculty members.
School scientific research achievements:
By April, 2020, Taiyuan University of Technology has undertaken the National Key Basic Research and Development Plan (973 Plan) as the chief scientist unit for two consecutive times, and undertaken national projects such as "863 Plan" and "National Key Research and Development Plan" 1338. Up to April 2007, 2065438, it has won 468 national and provincial scientific and technological achievement awards, including 42 national natural science awards, technological invention awards and scientific and technological progress awards.
On August 7, 20 17, NSFC announced the evaluation results of NSFC projects in the centralized acceptance period of 20 17. During the centralized acceptance period, the school approved a total of 109 projects, including 2 key projects, 38 general projects, 67 youth science fund projects and 2 emergency management projects.
