The Ordnance Engineering College of the People's Liberation Army of China is a growing cadre education institution focusing on engineering, combining science and technology with humanities, technology with management, military command with engineering technology. Being affiliated to the PLA General Armament Department, it is a national key institution of higher learning with a postdoctoral mobile station.
The college has graduate school, ordnance technology research institute, foundation department, artillery engineering department, photoelectric engineering department, ammunition engineering department, missile engineering department, computer engineering department, equipment command and management department, electrical engineering department, foreign training department, student team, information and management college, local health department, coaching group and other units. There are postdoctoral mobile stations for weapons and equipment science and technology, control science and engineering, military logistics and military equipment science, and there are two first-class disciplines, namely, weapons and equipment science and technology and optical engineering, with eight doctoral programs and 23 master programs. Among them, military equipment science and weapon system application and engineering are national key disciplines, with 18 undergraduate majors, which undertake to train high and intermediate military equipment theoretical research and technical support professionals for the whole army. After years of construction, the college has developed into a comprehensive college with engineering as the mainstay, military science and management as the wings, and engineering, military science, management, science, philosophy and other disciplines complete.
The college is located in the center of Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, with a campus area of 730,000 square meters and a construction area of 432,000 square meters. Excellent school conditions and advanced teaching facilities. It has weapons testing center, electronic testing center and other large-scale experimental centers 13, and various advanced teaching and experimental instruments and equipment at home and abroad, which provide good conditions for teaching and scientific research. Among them, the weapon anti-static hazard laboratory is the key construction laboratory of the whole army. The library has a building area of 5,000 square meters and a collection of 620,000 books. Equipped with advanced audio-visual equipment and automatic management system, with hospital literature information online retrieval system. The college campus network has been connected with military training network, education and scientific research network, etc. The comprehensive field training ground, closed light weapons shooting range and military obstacle course can provide trainees with simulated wartime ordnance service support training and military subject training.
The college has a strong faculty and fruitful scientific research results. At present, there are 2 academicians of China Academy of Engineering, more than 300 professors and associate professors, and more than 80 doctoral and master's tutors/kloc-0. 65% of the teachers have doctoral and master's degrees. Over the years, the college has paid close attention to the management of teaching and scientific research, continuously deepened the teaching reform, and a large number of teaching and scientific research achievements have won national and military awards.
The college has complete living facilities and colorful cultural and sports activities. The Science and Technology Audio-visual Center has an advanced audio-visual production and broadcasting system, which can connect domestic and foreign TV programs such as the United States, Russia and France through satellites. The college has established a military band and an art troupe composed of students. Every year, celebrities of literary and art sessions are invited to perform and give lectures in the college, which enlivens students' extracurricular cultural life. Two standard swimming pools with different water depths, 1 modern indoor gymnasium, 1 standardized sports ground, two well-equipped queue training grounds, 2,000 auditoriums and other large-scale teaching facilities and cultural activities places, as well as clean and hygienic student dormitories, canteens and bathrooms, have created good conditions for students' all-round development in morality, intelligence and physique.
College students are of high quality and widely distributed. Graduates are uniformly assigned to all units, organs, scientific research units and colleges of the whole army to engage in technical support, management, scientific research and teaching of ordnance equipment, and can also apply for master's degrees. A large number of graduates have become the backbone of our army's weapons industry and made important contributions to the modernization of the army.
1947 In March, in order to meet the demand for technical support talents in the rapidly developing liberation war situation, the Logistics Department of East China Field Army established the earliest predecessor of the Ordnance Engineering College in Zhucheng, Shandong Province-the Ordnance Training Team of the Logistics Department of East China Military Region. 1948, the Northeast Field Army established a logistics youth cadre school in Shenyang. 1June, 949, the Logistics Department of the Military Commission set up an ordnance training brigade in Tongxian County, Beijing, according to the instruction of Vice Chairman Zhou Enlai to "train a group of ordnance personnel quickly", and Yang Lisan, Minister of the General Logistics Department, personally served as the battalion chief. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, these training institutions have been further developed and improved, and initially formed a training system consisting of Wuchang Senior Ordnance Technician School, Tongxian Ordnance School, Nanjing Ordnance School and Shenyang and Wuchang Technical and Military Schools to train ordnance professionals at different levels. Before the "Cultural Revolution", these colleges and universities * * * trained more than 1000 ordnance cadres and made great contributions to army building. 1September, 969, like most military academies, these ordnance academies were cancelled or closed, which destroyed a training system for ordnance professionals that had just begun to take shape.
At the end of 1973, the Central Military Commission decided to rebuild the Ordnance Technical School (divisional unit) under the General Logistics Department. 1August, 974, Shijiazhuang officially broke ground. After a year of intense construction, the first phase of enrollment training began in September, 1975 (the reconstruction time is counted from this). At this point, the preparatory work has come to an end, and the college has begun to enter the construction period of cultivating, working hard and gradually developing. 1978, the school expanded its training tasks, added undergraduate courses, and upgraded to the regular military level; 1February, 1979, it was approved as a national key institution of higher learning and renamed as an advanced ordnance school; 1August, 983, changed to ordnance technical college; 1986 was named ordnance engineering college in August. 1September, 1992, the college was transferred to the General Staff Department, which was a corps-level unit; 1995 12 was identified as the key construction institution of the postgraduate training unit of the whole army; 1In May 1999, the College was transferred to the General Armament Department,1In June 1999, it became one of the comprehensive colleges of the whole army 12.
The college has experienced three stages of development: from 1975 to 1978, from training junior college students to training undergraduates, talent training is on the right track and becomes an engineering college; From 1978 to 1986, it has become a veritable national key engineering college, from cultivating undergraduates to cultivating postgraduates; From 1986 to 1994, from training master students to enrolling doctoral students, it took two eight years and jumped two steps. 1February 1996 was approved to set up a postdoctoral research mobile station, which entered the advanced ranks of military colleges, especially 12 comprehensive colleges, and became a key military college in 2000, marking a new step in college construction and school-running level.
