Interview position: Management trainee of Standard Chartered Bank.
Interview location: standard chartered bank conference room
Interview time: 165438+20051the morning of October 24th.
Interview form: group interview
Interview language: all English
After attending DTT's group interview, I received a phone call from Standard Chartered that night. At that time, I was still excited about the group interview, so I was very happy and needed one more group interview experience! ! !
/kloc-arrive at the famous city square where Standard Chartered is located at 0: 0: 20. The elevator door opened and a group of people who interviewed at 9 o'clock came out. Actually met the girl who met DTT at Jiaotong University, small world! After listening to her talk about GI, she said that we had no topic to choose, and when it was their turn, it was already the last choice.
It's still early to go to the fourth floor with another girl from Jiaotong University. The contact asked us to sit at the front desk on the 6th floor first. 1 1 Go downstairs. So at the front desk, I chatted with the girls from Jiaotong University and the boys from Caida University, and talked about how many four offer have been made, and how many times did the Standard Chartered online exam pass?
10: 50, a lady came out and asked us if it was an interview with GA. She asked us to follow her downstairs, which was very kind. Later I learned that this was Angela, one of the interviewers. Angela led us into the interview meeting room, where two girls were already sitting. They folded the cards with their names on them. The three of us sat down, folded the famous brands, and waited for the last batch of students from 1 to arrive. I suggest that you introduce yourself first, so you sign up for Nankai University, Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Fudan University and Caida University. Angela then sent the intention form to everyone, because we applied earlier and the online options had not been updated, so we needed to choose whether to join GA (Graduate Assistant) or CMT (National Management Trainee). The training courses are the same, but the former is a two-year global project and the latter is a one-year China project. Secondly, select departments, wholesale banks, consumer banks or wholesale banks to operate. The last student arrived in dusty, a graduate student from Zhejiang University who came from Hangzhou in the morning. Give him a seat, HR sent him an intention sheet and asked his classmates to help him explain, so I helped him.
Everything is ready except the east wind. Two interviewers, Alice and Angela from HR, Alice introduced the interview process: everyone introduced themselves (including their own achievements, internships, clubs, etc. +Why choose Standard Chartered Bank)-> Group discussion on a topic for 20 minutes -> 15 minutes presentation-> Comments on the presentation-> Different questions for everyone.
Introduce yourself:
I hesitated a little and didn't get the first prize. I was still a little nervous when the first girl spoke. Taking this opportunity, I recorded the five core values of Standard Chartered on paper, and found that one of the five I just recited was suddenly hard to remember, so I settled down and came up with five. Then she finished, and I motioned for me to continue. I want to thank Jess Zhang here. She told me several aspects of self-introduction the night before, and I came prepared, so I spoke fluently. Everyone spoke in succession, and finally only the Caida boy sitting next to me was left. He was very nervous and his spoken English was not very good, so he faltered and couldn't say a word for a long time, and his ears were red. HR told him to relax, but it still didn't seem to work. Subsequently, the group discussion began without speaking.
Group discussion:
As the girl from Jiaotong University said before, we didn't choose a topic. The only one is "in order to control the growth of motor vehicles, the Shanghai municipal government has implemented an auction system for car license plates, and now the price is ridiculously high." What do you think of this system? If it is cancelled, how can the traffic conditions be improved? What do you suggest?
I confirmed the start time with the human resources department and told everyone when we would finish. So we agreed to prepare the presentation in the last five minutes, so we began to discuss. At the beginning, everyone said that a girl must decide whether we agree or disagree. But at the beginning, we can't judge right or wrong hastily, so others think it's time to list the advantages and disadvantages of the system before making a decision. Because I am not familiar with the topic of car license plate, I didn't say much. What I do: When we are a little confused about the discussion, remind us which question these ideas can be used as the answer; Put the opinions put forward by several students in the answer to a question to confirm with you; Time control, remind us that in the last 5 minutes, we have to prepare the demonstration. Among them, JJ, a graduate student in Ishii, Fudan University, spoke a lot in the discussion, and others seemed to be similar. The boys at Caida University have great ideas on this issue and gave some key information.
In the last five minutes, someone suggested choosing one person to go up. Everyone else felt that it was not good, so they all said their own strengths, and that's it. In fact, I don't have any good skills, but I choose to cooperate with the rich boy next to me. The question we are discussing is what measures should be taken to improve traffic if it is cancelled. The solution was discussed before, and I arranged it. I made detailed records and translated the main points. In fact, two-thirds of the answers are his ideas, but the English expression is not good. When I finish, I will let the boy supplement it for me.
Presentation:
Let's talk separately, it's my turn to talk, because all the students I talked about before wrote on the blackboard at the same time, so I can't go up and write on the blackboard in advance, and then I didn't write my main points on the blackboard when I went up to talk, which I think may affect the effect. But I still think the suggestion is very concise. The boy from Caida later went up and added why we had such a suggestion. Finally, JJ in the Book of Songs of Fudan University talked about a topic that we have not discussed before. She made some ideas with some economic theories, some of which she didn't understand very well, but she felt that her personal performance was still outstanding.
Comments:
Someone didn't go to the presentation, and HR asked her if she had anything to add. She was embarrassed to say no, and then HR asked everyone to tell their scores and reasons for group performance and personal performance. Because the discussion atmosphere was harmonious and the time was well controlled, I gave the group 5 points for cooperation. The speech was scored 4.5 points for lack of time, otherwise our expression could be more organized and clear. Give yourself 4 points, because I am not familiar with this topic, I didn't give much advice, but I made a time controller and did other work that can support group discussion. Everyone gave the group discussion 5 points, and agreed that the discussion atmosphere was good, but it was low for themselves. The boys at Caida University are very interesting. He said that he thought his language was not good, but he was a thinker. I think HR will be more impressed by this sentence, and it is true. Finally, HR said that it is true that every group complains that there is not enough discussion time, and in actual work, the preparation time is also very urgent, and not everyone can choose. Besides, she said that she thought our presentation was very good.
Personal problems:
GG, a graduate student of Zhejiang University, was asked how he felt about being the president of N societies or organizations before introducing himself.
JJ, a graduate student of Fudan Ishii, was asked about her internship experience at Standard Chartered Bank. She talked a lot about how to improve a workflow and something about corporate culture. HR later commented with a smile that he was helping Standard Chartered to promote it to us.
Others are asking you what you have learned from your previous experience. My answer is that people may wonder how I can apply for a bank, because my major and internship experience have nothing to do with the bank. Just about to go on, Angela said with a smile, I'm not surprised, and then everyone laughed. Me too. I went on to say that during my internship in the hotel, I learned to understand what your customers need and provide services that are higher than their expectations. At 3M, I learned how to do some trivial and complicated things conscientiously, but my vision was broadened, so I could connect these things and look at the problem from a macro perspective. Then I'll talk about why I applied for a job in a bank. On the one hand, banking helps to cultivate a perfect personality, which requires both extroversion and hard work and perseverance in service. On the other hand, the competition in the banking industry is fierce, so there is a great demand for excellent bankers. I think this business is worth trying to develop its potential.
Finally, HR talked about the next recruitment process, because we are the first batch of interviews, and the online application will last for a long time, which seems to be 65438+ 10. Interested students should hurry up! ! !
The atmosphere of this group discussion is very good, which makes me like this interview form more and more. Of course, the character and behavior of the players are beyond your choice. I hope I can cooperate with different types of students in the future and enrich my group interview experience.

Interview position: Management trainee of Standard Chartered Bank.
Interview location: meeting room of Standard Chartered Bank Headquarters
Interview time: 65438 am on February 7, 2005.
Interview form: group interview
Interview language: all English
This round belongs to the final nature, with the participation of line managers, but before the first round of interview, HR also said that someone might be called on three sides. To my surprise, this time it was a group discussion. Maybe I have been preparing for the interview with the department manager before, or I haven't done GI for a long time, so I don't feel anything, so today's self-evaluation is average. However, I still want to thank Simon for calling me specially, pointing out that the evaluation should be my credit, Cathy for sharing her interview with me, urging me to grasp the details, and Brother Li Lei for giving people a calm but wise feeling.
Arriving in Pudong early in the morning, I didn't expect to meet the front desk in the elevator. The 28th floor was not open at that time. Then the receptionist let me sit in the lounge. After the meeting, two financial books and financial management books from Fudan University came to chat with them. Later, they came to the Institute of Finance and Research of Jiaotong University to chat. I found that they all applied for the wholesale bank, and I applied for the operation. After a while, I met the interviewer, Hrangela. She took us into the conference room and said that everyone was familiar with the process. At this time, just like anime characters, I have three diagonal lines on my forehead. Why is it a group visit again? ! Looking back now, there is actually a word called high-spirited, which makes sense. I had a group interview with DTT before, and it felt very good. I really want to attend more interviews like this. This time, there seems to be a reluctance. I think the "beginning to end" in the seven habits is quite reasonable.
This time, the process is the same as on the other hand, but there are some changes in time. It takes 65,438+0 minutes for self-introduction -> 20 minutes for group discussion-> Only 65,438+0 people can be selected for presentation-> Everyone can speak freely for 65,438+0 minutes-> The interviewer asks questions.
First of all, the interviewer introduced himself, three of them are HR, responsible for recruiting and wholesale banks, and two are wholesale banks. 1 Operation.
Introduce yourself:
HR said that at the beginning, everyone looked at each other, so I took the initiative to speak. In fact, I think the first speech also has some shortcomings, that is, I haven't fully figured out how to use this 1 minute to show myself. It seems that this is still not ready for the interview. You should prepare a different length of self-introduction for each position before the interview. I talked about scholarships, exchanges and club activities, and then I pointed out that although my major and internship have nothing to do with banks, I have a customer-oriented service concept, and I think I will be a person suitable for the banking industry. Others began to introduce them in turn. There are 1 graduate school of jiaotong university, 1 graduate school of London economics and politics, 3 Fudan books, 1 finance book, 1 jiaotong university book. I feel that what others have said is quite full. Maybe 1 minute has passed, but it's a pity to express myself more comprehensively.
Group discussion:
Because we are the second interview, we can choose 8 topics, and everyone has chosen 1. Let's start with a message. Someone in Harbin spent two months from hospitalization to death, and the medical expenses cost 5.5 million. HR said that at the beginning, I looked at my classmate's watch and told everyone that our discussion was 30 to 50 points. After discussion for a while, it was suggested that you have five minutes to prepare the presentation. I said it again, starting in 45 minutes. I didn't wear a watch because I didn't have the habit of wearing a watch, and I didn't know the group interview in advance, which led to another theory. She had a watch, she came to see the time, and then classified herself as a time controller when communicating with the interviewer.
At first, everyone was ready to express their opinions, but someone suggested framing, and I think she did a good job. Then we will discuss it from three parts: hospital, patients and society. Find the reason first, and then put forward the rectification measures. To be honest, I'm not familiar with this topic either, but it's a little better than the last license plate. The students in the second interview are very strong, and everyone wants to show themselves. I don't want to interrupt. It's reckless. Instead, they take notes while they are talking, trying to sort out some overall things. After they finished speaking, I gave some comments, but the overall speaking volume was at most average or below average compared with others.
For example, when the only child talked about the reasons of the hospital, he said that doctors imported expensive drugs because they could make profits from them, and doctors could only make money from this channel if their salaries were not high. His keynote is that doctors are greedy people. Later, I pointed out that you can't kill people with a stick. Some people may prescribe drugs for personal benefit, but there are also cases where imported drugs are much better than domestic drugs, and it makes sense to prescribe expensive drugs. In addition, when a girl proposed measures, she wanted to come out and classify hospitals. For minor problems, she can go to a small hospital and take cheap medicine; for major problems, she can go to a big hospital and use expensive medicine. After she finished speaking, I first affirmed her thoughts, and then pointed out that when she expressed the existing hospital hierarchy, the order was reversed, and the tertiary hospital was the best, not the lowest. She also accepted my suggestion happily. In addition, my speech is that I suggested that what we can do is to advocate patients' right to know, and doctors give patients several options when prescribing, telling them different curative effects and prices for patients to choose.
I reminded everyone in 45 minutes, and then everyone chose the only boy to speak. And then help him sort out his thoughts.
Presentation:
Boys are still a little nervous, the air conditioner is very hot, and they are sweating when they see their foreheads.
1 min Speak freely:
Because HR says you can say anything you want. The girl sitting opposite me at this time is more like a leader. She said to the girl at Caida University next to me, if you have any comments, please add them. Then the girls from Caida University said yes, so they were added. She listed our framework on the whiteboard, because the boys didn't use it in the presentation just now. But before I finished writing, HR was there shouting that time was over. It seems that I always keep in mind the time problem and don't make full use of this 1 minute. Now that I think about it, this 1 minute is not very accurate. I stood up and added two points (I found that all the speakers were sitting and talking with certainty, and I felt a little nervous at that time). I said that I think there are two measures that can be taken in terms of doctors. First, not every doctor will do such a bad thing. Then what we need to do is education in medical ethics, so that they can put the interests of patients first. Second, we should implement some policies. We can learn from other countries, such as the United States, where patients can sue doctors for irrational drug use, and the fines are quite high. Of course, when formulating foreign policy, we should also consider China's current national conditions. Only in this way can we solve this problem better. This is the end of my speech. In fact, this time should not have arrived yet. I should seize the opportunity to supplement my advantages in working in the bank and let the interviewer know more. Later, some people spoke from the aspects of individual division of labor, group performance and contribution.
Interviewer's question:
What makes me feel bad today is that I was not the first person asked by the interviewer, and the last two or three people were asked, indicating that they were not very interested in me. A business English girl from Jiaotong University was asked why she chose a commercial bank, and a girl from Caida University was asked that she had six months' study experience in a conservatory of music. It turned out that she had studied folk music before and was successfully admitted to the Conservatory of Music, but after studying for half a year, she felt that if such a life was not what she wanted, she wanted to learn more and have more room for development. So she took the college entrance examination again, but when she got to the second line, she didn't volunteer to fill it in, entered the junior college of Caida University, and then rose to the undergraduate course. Now she is studying real estate jointly with Caida and a foreign university. Her history of struggle is very attractive to everyone, and I think it will leave a deep impression on the interviewer. The girl sitting next to me was asked the question: She seldom talks, but when she saw others talking, she kept taking notes. Did she ask for a summary or something? She said it was a summary, and she felt that there should be a framework for doing things. She does everything according to the plan. The interviewer then asked, is that because of your major in financial management or because of your personality? She said it was your personality. Then he finally asked me why I was the first to speak. I said I wanted to be an icebreaker. I chatted with these friends for a while before the interview. Everyone is no stranger. I have nothing to be afraid of. Then I also hope to take a warning and let everyone make a good speech. Then the interviewer asked me to choose the best person in the group discussion. God, I think so. Later, I chose a girl. I said that her advantage is that she is calm-headed and has a holistic view. When we have a heated discussion, she will guide us to the pre-drawn framework in time, step by step and smoothly. Actually, I'm not sure if she did it. I just expressed what I thought was a better image. At this time, there will be three bars on the forehead! The interviewer also asked the person who graduated from political science and economics in London whether her study had reached her predetermined goal. She answered what she had learned and achieved her previous goal, but now she has raised the standard and will work harder. I think this answer is good. I don't remember other people's problems very clearly. Everyone promised to be asked 1 time.
Then it's over.
I think my bad point is that I didn't try my best to show my advantages in a limited time, and I was not aggressive enough. I didn't relax at the first interview. When I first went there, I had a good time. I'm more concerned this time, but I feel uneven.
