What's the difference between AFP, CFP and RFP?
There are three differences between AFP, CFP and RFP:

First of all, the overview of the three is different:

1.AFP overview: namely, a financial planner refers to a professional who follows the six steps of the standard financial management process to help clients achieve their life goals.

2. Overview of CFP: CFP is the abbreviation of "International Financial Planner".

3. Overview of RFP: Registered Financial Planner-Registered Financial Planner (RFP) is an international authoritative certification qualification of the American Association of Registered Financial Planners (RFPI).

Second, the three requirements are different:

1, AFP requirements: As a "financial planner", you must be able to correctly analyze and evaluate the financial situation of customers, and tailor a reasonable financial plan for customers according to their career stage and risk tolerance.

2.CFP requirements: junior college degree or above in national education sequence, employees in grass-roots units of financial institutions such as insurance companies, commercial banks, fund companies, securities companies, investment companies, futures companies and wealth management companies.

3.RFP requirements: RFP is a registered financial planner, covering a wide range, mainly personal financial management, such as banking, finance, securities, insurance, corporate financial management, investment business, etc. CFA (Certified Financial Analyst) is a certified financial analyst whose main direction is financial analysis.

Three different certification standards:

1, AFP certification standard: China Financial Standards Committee implements two-level financial planner certification system, namely, financial planner (AFP) and international financial planner (CFP) certification system. AFP training is the first stage of CFP training.

According to the framework agreement between China Financial Management Standards Committee and International Financial Management Standards Committee, China Financial Management Standards Committee conducts the qualification certification of financial planners (AFP) and international financial planners (CFP).

2. Certification standard of CFP: Considering that the domestic demand for financial planners with basic financial management skills far exceeds that of CFPs with international standards, China Financial Management Standards Committee decided to adopt the practice of becoming a full member of most international CFP organizations and implement a two-level certification system for financial planners in China.

In addition to registering as an international financial planner (CFP), it also certifies as an assistant financial planner (AFP).

3. Certification standards of RFP: CFP and RFP. At present, the two major certifications in the financial industry are international financial certifications, which are issued by two different international financial associations. The training and examination of RFP certification have been completed in Chinese, and can be conducted in China. Moreover, the training and examination contents of domestic RFP certification are closer to the domestic business reality and more practical.

Although RFP and CFP are both international certification qualifications in the field of financial planning, there are still some differences. They belong to different associations, so far there is no mutual recognition agreement. CFP focuses on theoretical and academic aspects; RFP pays attention to the combination of practice and theory.
