The English full name of International Physics Olympics is International Physics solympiad, abbreviated as IPhO. The goal of IPhO is to "promote the development of international communication in school physics education" by organizing the international physics competition for middle school students, so as to emphasize the growing importance of physics in all science and technology and general education for young people.

Hengshui No.2 Middle School, founded in 1996, is one of the two provincial demonstration high schools in Hengshui. Since the second venture in 2005, the school has achieved extraordinary development, rapidly developed into a national famous brand school in a short time, and established a school-running model of "defeating the strong with the weak and developing with connotation" throughout the country.
