What activities does the Red Cross have?
Obligations and rights

Article 29 The Red Cross Society shall perform the following duties:

(a) Normal duties:

1, prepare for disaster relief, and build and manage disaster relief facilities; In natural disasters and emergencies, to carry out rescue, according to the specific circumstances of disasters and incidents, the China Red Cross issued an appeal at home and abroad, accepted donations from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals in accordance with the law, and provided urgently needed humanitarian assistance to the people and victims in disaster areas in time;

2, to carry out publicity and popularization of health care and disease prevention knowledge; Carry out primary health care training in industries prone to accidental injuries, urban neighborhood committees and rural pastoral areas, and organize the masses to participate in on-site rescue of accidental injuries and natural disasters;

3. Participate in blood transfusion and blood donation, and advocate voluntary blood donation; Assist the people's governments at all levels to carry out the propaganda and mobilization of unpaid blood donation, and commend and reward advanced units and individuals; It has nothing to do with the mobilization, publicity and organization of bone marrow transplant donors and the storage and retrieval of donor information;

4. Organize members and volunteers to carry out social service activities; Carry out other humanitarian services;

5. Carry out fund-raising activities according to law; Red Cross donation boxes can be set up and managed in airports, railway stations, hotels, shopping malls, parks, currency exchange offices and other public places;

6. Participate in international humanitarian relief work; Carry out friendly cooperation and exchanges with the International Red Cross and the Red Cross or Red Crescent Societies of various countries;

7, to carry out the Red Cross youth activities beneficial to the physical and mental health of young people;

8. To publicize the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols and the seven basic principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement; Publicize the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Red Cross Society and the Measures for the Use of the Red Cross Symbol in People's Republic of China (PRC), and assist people's governments at all levels to correct the abuse of the Red Cross Symbol;

9, the establishment of social welfare undertakings and economic entities in line with the purpose of the Red Cross;

10, complete the matters entrusted by the people's government.

(2) To perform the following duties in wartime according to the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols:

1, organize Red Cross Rescue Team to participate in battlefield rescue;

2. Carry out the prevention and control of infectious diseases in the army according to law;

3. Rescue civilians in the war zone;

4. Assist prisoners of war, prisoners and refugees to get in touch with their families, transfer money and goods, and establish necessary communication channels for this purpose;

5. Take part in the tour and witness the exchange of prisoners of war.

Article 30 The staff of the Red Cross shall be protected by the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols in wars and armed conflicts, and by relevant state laws and regulations in natural disasters and emergencies.

Thirty-first in natural disasters and emergencies, people wearing the Red Cross sign and materials and means of transport marked with the Red Cross sign have priority.

Thirty-second in natural disasters and emergencies, in order to carry out rescue tasks, Red Cross rescuers can give priority to using public communication tools.

Thirty-third social welfare undertakings organized by the Red Cross can enjoy preferential tax policies in accordance with relevant state regulations.

Thirty-fourth relief materials donated by organizations and individuals outside the country (territory) accepted by the Red Cross shall enjoy preferential tax reduction and exemption in accordance with relevant state regulations. Relevant departments give priority to transportation and go through relevant release procedures.

Article 35 Radio, television, newspapers and other news organizations should actively support the Red Cross to carry out activities to publicize the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, the Constitution of the International Red Cross Movement, the Red Cross Law of the People's Republic of China, the measures for the use of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Red Cross symbol, social fund-raising and the Red Cross to perform its duties.
