The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "National University of Science and Technology") with its main campus in Beijing is an innovative university with the integration of science and education as its running mode and postgraduate education as its main body. As a national "double-class" construction university, it has been selected as a member of the Pacific Rim University Alliance, the Jinggang University Alliance, the China University Planetary Science Alliance and the China-Europe Business School Alliance.

The school was formerly the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences, with pilot program 1963. The Graduate School of the Chinese University of Science and Technology was formally established 1978. It is the first graduate school in New China approved by the State Council, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. 1982, China Academy of Sciences approved the use of the names of graduate schools of China Academy of Sciences and China University of Science and Technology. From June 5 to February 2000, the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and Ministry of Education approved the name of the school as Graduate School of China Academy of Sciences. In 2005, the Management Cadre College of China Academy of Sciences merged.
