Kunming Medical College's continuing higher education was founded in 1960s, and it has gone through more than forty years. Over the past decades, through the unremitting efforts of several generations, it has created the foundation of medical higher continuing education in our province and laid a good foundation for the development of continuing education in our hospital. 1982 after the resumption of the college entrance examination, the continuing education in our hospital developed rapidly. 1990, the Department of Amateur Education under the Academic Affairs Office of the College was upgraded to the Department of Continuing Education of Kunming Medical College. 1996, with the approval of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Kunming Medical College of Adult Education was formally established. In 2008, it was renamed the College of Continuing Education of Kunming Medical College. There are currently 7 faculty members 10, and 6 external teachers10, including 6 with sub-senior titles or above. It has a teaching building with a building area of 6,400 square meters and more than 20 special classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with multimedia teaching equipment and a special voice classroom with advanced equipment. Kunming Medical College has a strong faculty, perfect experimental conditions and practice bases, which provides a solid foundation for improving the teaching quality of continuing education.

The development of continuing education in our province has promoted the continuous development of continuing education in our hospital to scale and socialization, and made the work of continuing education leap to a new level. Under the leadership of the administration of the Party Committee of the school, all the faculty members of the college changed their concepts, raised their awareness, and strived to cultivate "retained, useful and reliable" applied higher medical and health technical talents with college education, strong practical skills and good professional ethics for grassroots, frontier and poverty-stricken areas.

Our college conscientiously implements the policy of "walking on two legs" determined by the Party Committee and the administration of our college, and goes deep into the investigation and study of various states, cities and counties in Yunnan Province to understand the history and development status of medical and health undertakings in Yunnan Province, understand the technical status of primary health technicians, actively explore new ways of continuing medical education, make full use of high-quality school resources and campus advantages, actively play the role of our college as the main channel of continuing education, expand the scale of running schools, increase the level and specialty setting of running schools, and reform the form of running schools. After years of hard work, it has formed a multi-form (academic education, on-the-job training, continuing medical education) and multi-professional school-running pattern. Professionally, there are clinical medicine, nursing, stomatology, preventive medicine, medical examination, medical imaging, pharmacy and other majors; In the form of study, the evening university, full-time study and self-study are implemented; In running a school, there are junior college, junior college and junior college. The number of registered students has increased from less than 100 per year to more than 3000 per year. From 1995 to 2006, * * opened more than 200 full-time and evening classes, with a total enrollment of more than 10000 students and more than 20000 graduates, which achieved good social and economic benefits. The College of Continuing Education was rated as an excellent unit of self-study examination by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education. 1996, the college of continuing education of our college was well received in the qualification evaluation of continuing correspondence and evening education organized by the provincial education commission for 16 colleges and universities in our province.
