How many hours do you study IELTS a day?
How many hours do you study IELTS a day? Three hours? Five hours? Or more? There is actually no fixed value, which varies from person to person. Next, we will introduce in detail:

First, the IELTS target score determines your IELTS preparation time.

First of all, the target score directly affects our IELTS study time (there must be a gap between 7 and 5)

This is the time needed to extract 109 IELTS candidates who have achieved similar results from the IELTS adaptive learning system. As shown in the above figure (the traditional "reporting time"), according to the calculation of 3 hours of study every day, it takes about 3 months for IELTS band 6, 4 months for IELTS band 6.5 and 4.5 months for IELTS band 7. The higher the average score of IELTS test, the longer the preparation time will be.

In other words, if you want to get IELTS scores quickly, you should spend more time studying IELTS in one day.

Generally speaking, we suggest that all IELTS candidates concentrate on preparing for the exam, and try to finish the exam within 3-4 months, not too long. We also suggest that we should not waste precious time brushing questions over and over again, which is inefficient and desperate, but make a good study plan and do targeted exercises every day. The important thing is to persevere.

Second, how to plan the IELTS preparation time?

( 1)? Candidates in school: Candidates in school are the main force of IELTS test.

Preparation time: science and engineering students are relatively nervous about their studies, but generally speaking, most of the candidates in school have relatively abundant preparation time, and they can have 2-3 hours of review time every day on weekdays, and they can also make their own arrangements on weekends.

English proficiency: In view of the CET-4 and CET-6 and the college English course, compared with the IELTS candidates who have already worked, the candidates at school have a certain English foundation.

Study suggestion: For the candidates in school, it is recommended to find a senior teacher or a classmate with experience in preparing for the exam and guide them to establish a detailed study preparation plan every day. The important thing is to persevere.

The working day is 2-3 hours a day, and all the time should be used to attend classes or do targeted exercises. Targeted exercises refer to sentence grammar analysis, intensive reading of short articles, intensive listening, pronunciation and intonation training, imitation and sentence making, etc.

The whole weekend is precious, so it is recommended to guarantee 6-8 hours of study time. In addition to lectures and exercises, it is also suggested to do a real model test and reflect on the whole model test. One month before the exam, we should strengthen the intensity of the model exam;

Every spare time is spent reciting words or doing extensive listening. Stick to the day before the exam and strive for a vocabulary of 8000+.

(2) On-the-job candidates: On-the-job candidates are hard-working candidates in the IELTS preparation group and need more perseverance.

Preparation time: On-the-job candidates' daily study time is not fixed, with an average review time of about 2 hours per working day.

English level: In view of the fact that most people's work and English have almost no intersection, they need to "pick up" English again, so the preparation work required is heavy.

Study suggestion: For on-the-job candidates, it is suggested that you must plan your study plan in advance, make full use of the commuting time to and from work, and try to prepare for the exam all day on weekends.

During the whole preparation period, we should make full use of fragmented time to practice topics that take less time, such as memorizing words, doing listening exercises, reading short articles, sentence grammar analysis and so on during commuting time.

During the study period on weekdays, it is necessary to coordinate the work in advance and manage the time well to ensure the study time and mental state at night. It is recommended to attend classes or do daily exercises on weekdays.

In addition to daily exercise, you should also do time-limited exercise on weekends. The exercise here can be a single listening exercise, reading exercise, or a complete written test of listening, reading and writing.

(3) Off-duty candidates: It is really difficult for on-the-job candidates to have a whole time to review and prepare for the exam. Some IELTS candidates with busy work and weak foundation have chosen to leave their jobs temporarily to prepare for the IELTS test.

Preparation time: Full-time candidates who leave the company have plenty of time.

English proficiency: most candidates who take the exam have a weak foundation, and a few candidates with good proficiency hope to get high marks in a short time.

Learning suggestion: For full-time candidates who have left school for a long time and have a low level of English, it is recommended to prepare for basic study at least one to two months in the early stage: learn IELTS preparation methodology, memorize words with high intensity, do basic grammar exercises (analyze sentence grammatical components and translate sentences), and strive for a vocabulary of at least 6,000+in the basic stage.

Ensure at least 8 hours of intensive study every day. Depending on the individual level, you can prepare for a period of basic study before preparing for the exam, focusing on breaking through words and grammar;

After preparing for the exam, it is suggested that the IELTS preparation methodology should be studied systematically in the early stage, so as to reduce the time for self-exploration and avoid detours;

There is plenty of study time every day, but there is often a lack of planning. It is suggested to make a study plan for this week every week, arrange special practice time and limited time model test time, and strictly abide by it.

For other study suggestions, please refer to the candidates in school and in-service candidates.

The above is an introduction to IELTS time planning for three groups of people. There are two points to note:

Preparation time: concentrate on preparing for the exam and strive for it. Get the ideal IELTS score within 3-4 months; You should stick to your daily preparation plan.

Exercise topic: insist on special exercises and limited time model exams, insist on memorizing words until the day before the exam, and refuse to brush the questions without reflection.
