Shanghai University of Commerce is a public application-oriented undergraduate college with distinctive business characteristics. Its predecessor was 1950, East China Branch of Central Taxation School. The school has four campuses: Feng Pu, Zhongshan West Road, Cao Bao Road and Quanguo Road, and there is a school in Fuzhou Road. There are more than 8,000 full-time students and 783 faculty members.
The school has carried out comprehensive strategic cooperation with Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, accelerated the construction of discipline special zones, and made great efforts to build a characteristic business discipline system with applied economics and business administration as the main body and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. Applied economics is a second-class plateau discipline in Shanghai, and business administration has been selected as a first-class discipline (B-class) training plan in Shanghai universities.
Based on the national and local strategies and the major needs of the industry, the school has deepened its comprehensive strategic cooperation with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and carried out high-quality business research and consulting services. It has Shanghai Commercial Development Research Institute, Shanghai University think tank and Shanghai Social Science Innovation Research Base.
