The hierarchy of Taekwondo comes from karate, and the related system of karate is influenced by other "Dao" in Japan. Japanese people really like to grade things, which is beside the point.
Objectively speaking, the "ten levels and nine segments" system of Taekwondo is beneficial to Taekwondo itself and students. It clearly divides the grades of Taekwondo practitioners, so that students can train with other students of any grade, and it is clear where to start training when changing teachers or going to other schools, which is also conducive to competition between schools. Because students don't have to worry about changing the "master", they can't continue to learn Taekwondo smoothly. As for other tests to enhance self-confidence, they are not the most fundamental function of this system, nor are they the purpose of implementing this system.
However, when all this came to China, especially in recent years, it was completely stale, even completely lost the role of the original hierarchy, and completely became a tool for businessmen to collect money.
In order to objectively show the level of taekwondo practitioners, we must first ensure the strictness and fairness of the level examination. This is exactly the worst thing that China Taekwondo has done. The minimum age of taekwondo students has changed from 864 years old more than ten years ago to two years old now. Taekwondo prenatal education is just around the corner. There is a huge contradiction between young students' limited learning ability and parents' high expectations of their children, so the grade examination has become a joke. Children go through the motions, Taoist temples are happy to collect money, and children are happy to change their belts. Parents look as if their children have made great progress and are happy, as if everyone is happy. Moreover, there is a psychological comparison between parents. In the comparison of Taekwondo, children can't often be dragged out to fight, and the competition is not every day, so the color of the belt has become the main content of the comparison. Unscrupulous businessmen smell money from it, so the exam is more and more expensive.
As for the usefulness of the level test, if the participants can pass 100%, then any test is meaningless, and it is meaningless to study in such a Taoist temple. If your Dojo exam is strict and the grading standard is high, you must pass the grading exam of this Dojo.
As for whether the exam is cheating money, first of all, the grade certificate is completely useless. Your money is spent on exams, not on certificates. If you are obsessed with the so-called "authenticity" of the certificate, then you are just like those parents I mentioned above. No matter what association printed the certificate, you go to the first-level agent or some Taoist temples are empty, and then your name and so on are printed by the agent or Taoist temples, and the certificate with your name is not from any association at all. Cheap certificate Taobao one yuan, expensive certificate of China Taekwondo Association 20 yuan. There should be a cheaper price. Taoist temples should also come to see if you are holding expensive goods. To sum up, if the exam is not strict and unfair and can't reflect the level of students, then the certificate is a dead letter.
Let's talk about the cost of grading first:
First, it takes time to pass the exam. No matter in the Daoguan exam or in the rented venue exam, there is a rental cost, and the staff who take the exam also have to work. All this is based on time. There will certainly not be as many students who show their skills at the same time as in class, so it is normal that the unit time is more expensive than usual. A student's examination time is as short as fifteen minutes, and the higher the level, the longer the time. At the end of the exam, he may have to spend an hour, which is calculated at the price of three to five times the usual class time. This is the time cost. This premise is the ratio of the number of students and examiners who play at the same time during the exam. For example, two coaches may take 30 students in class, but an examiner will stare at two or three students during the exam. If there is only one examiner, and then a large row of students take the exam together, the cost will be saved, and it can basically be concluded that it is a cheating exam.
Second, the examiner cost. There are many taekwondo gymnasiums now, but there are not many coaches with real black belts. Many people are still in the dark, that is, the kind of examination that goes through the motions mentioned above, and they have not even passed the direct purchase of certificates. There are even fewer qualified senior positions that can qualify for the grade examination. Some Dojo exams come and they are willing to pay people to pretend, although their coaches are not good enough. This part of the cost depends on the friendship between the Taoist and the examiner. It's cheap to be an examiner by your own leader (if you are really qualified). But this part of some Taoist temples is also preserved. Just find an aunt who sweeps the floor and go through the motions, so the cost is also saved. It's hard to say that it will be shared equally among each student. Ten dollars is fine, but fifty dollars is not much.
Third, the material cost. Try to hit the board at the beginning, and then hit the marble brick and tile at the later stage. , it costs money. Recently, circuit boards have become more and more expensive. In the name of safety, some Taoist temples canceled the examination of breaking and stunts, and this part was retained.
Fourth, unforeseen costs. Grading exams also require students to exercise, which is risky. But also through sparring and self-protection to show the technical level of students. I will be nervous when I take the exam, I will go all out, and the risk in class will be much higher than usual. Some Taoist officials don't take the exam when they take it ... and they are saved again.
The above four expenses add up to 100 to 300, which is not much. Of course, some Taoist temples charge 5 100 yuan.
Then again, the cost of the above four aspects has been achieved, even if there is no certificate, the cost of the exam is worth it. Some Taoist temples (most in China) have omitted all the above four items. Hundreds of dollars are a mere formality, and selling a certificate with a cost of several yuan and twenty yuan is cheating money.
