Experience of caring for left-behind children in 2020
In this volunteer activity, we went to remote mountainous areas and saw what the current situation of left-behind children in rural areas is like. To tell the truth, looking at their appearance, some children in the city can't help crying when they think about it. After learning about the things at home of left-behind children, they are even more distressed, not only lamenting the injustice of fate. In such a remote mountain village, they also know that reading is the only hope to get out of the mountains, and only reading can change their destiny. When they are far from school, they get up in the morning and go to school. Even though they usually have to do housework at home and farm work on weekends, they have not put down their books and stopped studying. This spirit is not found in many urban children. They really like reading and books.

And this time, taking part in this activity and volunteering, we brought a lot of clothes and books. Children here may not wear a new dress for a year, and their parents also have convincing reasons to work outside to earn money. In this hometown, only the elderly and children, young people and middle-aged people have gone out to work, and children may have to take care of their grandparents besides doing things. I can't help but be moved that such a small child has to face such a big burden. Some want to do something for them, but there is no good way.

I met a little boy during the activity. I asked him to take his little friend. I give them classes and lectures and tell them something about the city. When I ask him what he wants most, I can mail it to him when I get back. But he gave me an unexpected answer. He said that he hoped his parents would come back. His parents haven't come back for three years, and he has almost forgotten their faces. I don't know how to answer him when he said this. Maybe he saw my embarrassment. He said he had everything and didn't need anything else. This photo makes me want to cry. Such a small child is so sensible. When I was his age, I was still arguing with my parents about not going to school. Children of this age need their parents to accompany them when they grow up, but for practical reasons, parents have to go far away to work in a strange city in order to support their children. This feeling really made me feel bad for a while, because I knew there were many such things, but I couldn't stop them. After all, everyone has to live. I can only try my best to help those who can, which is the original intention of my participation in this volunteer activity. I believe that with the slow development of our country, everyone can live a family reunion life sooner or later.
